These tabby boys are looking forward to a better future.
They lived in an abandoned trailer with a large group of cats, fed by a kind neighbor, before coming to PAWS.

This is Tarot who is a bit shy, but warms up quickly.

Fortune is a little more outgoing.

Brothers Fortune and Tarot are under two years old, playful and sweet natured. They are neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to bring good luck to their new forever home.

Sweet Potato is a young and lovely Southern belle. A vet student from Connecticut was working at a clinic in Tennessee when they met.

Rather than see this mild mannered calm cat returned to the streets, the student brought Sweet Potato home to PAWS.

By the way, Moo is still waiting too.

If you are in a black and white kind of mood, you won’t find a more charming and outgoing cat than young Finnley.

And look at his big polydactyl mitts!

This is three year old Kiki. She came from a house with too many cats and is quite happy with feline roommates and visiting people.

Amelia, on the other hand, loves human visitors but would rather not share space with any other cats. She’s about three years old too.

To round out the tour, we have kittens Jerry and George.

Pretty young Hayley is happy to cuddle with her roommate sweet William.

She likes other cats, catnip toys, and visits from friendly people. She has nurtured her kittens and has had quite enough of that, thank you very much!
Hayley is ready for her own forever home – spayed and up to date on vaccinations.

Ollie has had a lot of adventures in his five years. He was in a home with too many cats, lived on the streets, and ended up safely in the shelter.

He’s a quiet calm boy who enjoys the company of other cats and nice people. He’s ready for, and certainly deserves, a much better change of circumstance.

Falling in love is an occupational hazard for animal shelter volunteers, and when I met Watermelon it was love at first sight.

Not only is two year old Watermelon handsome, he also has a playful friendly personality.
I don’t think his stay at the shelter will be long…

But he won’t be coming home with me. Our Rufus the Red and Mickey Mouser have put their paws down: absolutely no more cats!

Sunrise, mother of two and not even two years old, would like a home without any of those annoying felines. She’s quite playful and good company.

Lady Whistledown made a most dramatic and unexpected debut at the shelter. Someone opened the PAWS lobby door, put her on down (without even a carrier) and ran off!

She is a British Shorthair, about a year and a half old, and the friendliest cat you will ever meet!

Lady Whistledown is taking her change in fortune in stride.

Cecil would like you to visit his room at PAWS.

He has abundant energy and is quite a happy cat.
The shelter sure beats the apartment where he was found abandoned.

Cecil likes to stay on top of things.

Here’s his buddy Timothy, who is an affectionate two year old.

They enjoy hanging out around Cactus Island.
Life is good; no food anxiety, lots of people caring about you, toys and treats.
Now all they need is a forever home and family.

On another note, my blog had become very troublesome, updates not updating, whole sections mysteriously disappearing…so frustrating! I considered giving up, but what to do with the gazillions of cat photos I continue to take? I needed professional help.

Sweet little Petal is not even a year old.

Her roommate Moo is about three years old and is really enjoying her company (that’s Rudy in the background).

These very friendly, playful cats are waiting at PAWS.

Here’s four year old June. She came to the shelter with her BFF Phoebe, and won’t be leaving without her.

I’m sorry to report that five year old Phoebe has been hitting the bottle.
These girls are gentle souls who ended up at PAWS when their family could no longer care for them.

On a brighter note, there’s an abundance of catnip growing in the shelter’s courtyard. Here’s how I’ve been sharing the crop:

Meanwhile Lulu was having a playdate with her roommates.

Rocket and Gloria were shy cats who found comfort in each other’s company while they were at PAWS.
Both adopted!

Lily and Toby will be happy in a loving patient family…
as long as there is room for both of them!

Dora is a petite cat with a big personality.

This tiny powerhouse ruled the roost (which included her six healthy kittens).
Now that they have all been weaned and adopted, little Dora is looking for a home.
She’s under two years old, spayed, up to date with her vaccinations, and ready to go.

Two year old Lulu came to PAWS with several siblings from a home with too many cats. She’s very playful and friendly.

He is a calm and friendly guy, only a year old.

Hashbrown is in PAWS Cat Room #8 where he can watch the world go by through the big window.

He can also watch the kittens next door…

Our friends at Fukumaru donated several cat houses to PAWS.

They are made of wood and very sturdy. The houses come with hardware to hang them on walls. But, due to their weight and the less than sturdy metal studs in the shelter’s walls, Rick decided to build a low table for them with a connecting tunnel.
Of course, Rufus had to investigate and supervise.

Here they are in place in Cat Room #4.

At PAWS we do our best to give the cats and kittens an enriching and fun environment

One year old Colin was found dumped at a feral colony. Now he is safe at PAWS.

Colin is a sweet mild mannered boy.

We are always happy to see cats when we are away from home.
We were certainly happy in Hawaii!

Abaykitties manages the colonies in the Waikoloa resort area.

The cats, like this one, are trapped, neutered, returned and maintained in colonies.
