CleanTech Lithium (CTL), an exploration and development company, advancing sustainable lithium projects in Chile for the clean energy transition, announced an update on activities at two exploration stage projects – sampling results from the Llamara Project and commencement of initial geophysics at a new exploration project in the Salar de Atacama basin. The company said while it continues to progress its key projects Laguna Verde and Francisco Basin, exploration at additional prospects in Chile is also advancing. At its Llamara project it is in the process of receiving and evaluating the results, while initial geophysics results from new licences applied for recently at the Salar de Atacama basin are very positive.

Comment: CTL reminds us that it is not just a “two trick pony” in terms of the key Laguna Verde and Franciso assets. And of course the company is still waiting on the market recognising the value it is sitting on across all its Chile projects.

Premier African Minerals (PREM) reported on the progress of operations at Premier’s Zulu Lithium and Tantalum Project. The company said the plant at Zulu resumed operations with material fed through the newly installed and commissioned mill. In its interim results PREM said it expects to meet the production target for shipments in November 2023. At the same time, this use of the RHA mill only allows for up to 50% of target production and the supply of a new mill to meet full design throughput is expected ex works in Q4 of 2023. This is expected to be installed and commissioned in early Q1 of 2024.

Comment: It has been a very busy newsflow period for PREM, a point underlined by the two RNSs today. So far it seems the shares will squeeze higher in the run up to the supply of a new mill later this year.

Alkemy Capital (ALK) and its wholly-owned subsidiary Tees Valley Lithium announced that TVL together with Weardale Lithium has secured a joint funding package of approximately £613,000, which includes a grant of approximately £430,000 from Innovate UK. TVL said it was delighted to have received this grant from Innovate UK and looks forward to its collaboration with Weardale as it seeks to bring back high value manufacturing to the North East and help develop a potential UK-based supply chain for the lithium sector.

Comment: ALK is and always was going to be the type of company which would attract grants, something which it has shown in a solid way today. The shares remain lower than they should be in the recent trading range.

Yesterday Acuity RM Group (ACRM), which owns Acuity Risk Management Limited released its interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2023. The company said the Acquisition was a major strategic move for ACRM, having worked with Acuity for three years we understand the business and its opportunities, Acuity’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are shown in my report.  They demonstrate continuing advances across all parts of the business and particularly the sales and market opportunity which is expanding quickly with major orders being won. Since the completion of the Acquisition, Acuity has secured two new UK based contracts with a combined value of over £450,000.  In addition, since the period end Kerry Chambers was appointed as CEO of Acuity and as a main board Director of ACRM.

Comment: It has been a relatively quiet summer for Acuity, something which one would expect to change as we expect it to build on the £450,000 worth of contracts it has notched up in the recent past.

Seeen (SEEN) report Interims to June with a reduced EBITDA loss on lower turnover as its focuses on commercializing its proprietary AI Driven software. Turnover is $1.1m and Gross Profit margins greatly improved to 24.6%. As clients used the existing tech before July’s release of the new CreatorSuite 2.0 software. The core technology is its AI-generated Video Moments which is servicing a growing market need as the applications help video asset owners increase income and therefore their video library’s value.  The faster 5G connections and the shift to mass online video consumption are accelerating video usage. There is a growing pipeline for CreatorSuite 2.0, with contract sizes ranging up to $2m in revenues per year. Following the 6p fund rising, mainly with Institutions, net cash is cir.$2.1m, and they are on track to achieve monthly cash flow breakeven from the current pipeline of opportunities.

Comment: There seems plenty of financial and non-financial evidence in the Interims and supported by the Tech Demo Day 2 weeks ago, that the £5.6m Mkt Cap at 6p is looking back and not forward.

Symphony Environmental Technologies (SYM) interims to end June showed increasing sales and reduced losses. Its Revenue improved 16% to £3.6m while the net loss is down from £1.4m to £0.8m.  Substantial time and investment have been made developing its suite of d2w biodegradable plastic technologies and strengthening the IP portfolio. There is a wide range of d2p formulations aimed at being used in enormous sectors such as food, insecticidal and flame-retardant. These ‘unique’ products are being trialled in different applications and in several markets such as South Africa, South Korea, Yemen, and Turkey.  Symphony India, is a joint venture, with the mighty Indorama India and is set to get a boost from new regulations. Generally, regulators and increasing companies understand the benefits of SYM’s low cost, immediate use, and non-disruptive solutions which when added to ordinary plastic products it results in removing plastic litter and microplastics from the environment.  The rate of progress to commercialisation is hard to judge although significant commercial news can be expected.  There is non-equity funding in place for working capital supported by a £1m 7% convertible loan from its largest shareholder, due for repayment end of H1 2024.

Comment: There is a compelling and large need to reduce plastic waste, it seems a matter of when not IF SYM solutions will be recognised and widely adopted. This possibility does not seem reflected in the £12m Mkt cap.

Poolbeg Pharma (POLB), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, announced that the oral opposition hearing scheduled by the European Patent Office relating to the challenge to the Company’s European patent (Immunomodulator I), has been cancelled. This favourably concludes this matter with the patent maintained as granted. POLB said it was delighted to share that the European Patent Office has decided against proceeding with the scheduled hearing, following the withdrawal of the patent opposition by a third party.  It has always maintained confidence in the strength and validity of its patents and it is pleased to bring this matter to a close and look forward to continuing to strengthen our IP protection of this exciting molecule.

Comment: We have a good fundamental win for Poolbeg, something which should help the company continue to garner appreciation in the market.

Kendrick Resources (KEN) the Scandinavian focused new age mineral exploration and development company with nickel and vanadium projects in Norway, Sweden and Finland, announces its unaudited interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2023. The company said its review of its projects has given it confidence that its north European assets are well located with significant potential in the quickly emerging space of energy generation and storage.

Comment: Rather like Metals One, Kenrick’s geography in Scandinavia means that it is favoured in terms of the central European markets, and by the relatively low carbon footprint of bring its nickel and vanadium to market.

Bezant (BZT), the copper-gold exploration and development company, announced its unaudited interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2023. The company said that during the period the copper price has continued to be volatile, but the consensus remains that there is an impending shortage of copper supplies. It believes it has an above average copper project portfolio, and it continues to have several discussions regarding finance and resource collaboration for their advancement.  At the time of writing, it is still in discussions and negotiations regarding portfolio advancement.

Comment: There certainly is work to be done for Bezant in terms of developing its portfolio, especially in the current funding environment. However, it should be the case that it is the quality of its assets that gets it over the line.

Empire Metals (EEE), the AIM-quoted resource exploration and development company, announced its interim results for the six-month period ended 30 June 2023. The company said with a stable of quality projects, each with significant prospectivity, and including one already hosting a discovery of global significance, it is with huge enthusiasm and excitement that it looks forward to the remaining months of 2023, and on to 2024, for it sees this upcoming period as a time of important project and company development, and great value creation for its shareholders.

Comment: It really has been a cracking 2023 for EEE, and as we hear from the RNS today, the next year is likely to be even better as it proves up Pitfield.

N4 Pharma (N4P), the specialist pharmaceutical company developing Nuvec®, announced the acquisition of a controlling interest, through a subscription for new ordinary shares, in Nanogenics Limited, a company with a complementary lipid and peptide-based delivery system called Liptide®, which it is using to develop a novel siRNA product targeting an unmet clinical need in the ophthalmology market. The acquisition has been funded by a placing at an issue price of 1p per Placing Share raising £350,000 (before expenses). N4P said it has been investigating potential assets to add to the Company for some time. The RNA sector is an exciting one with a lot of investor and commercial interest. The addition of the Liptide® delivery system and siRNA sequence adds significant potential value to its business. As well as glaucoma, the MRTF-B gene is also responsible for fibrosis of the liver and lung, two large areas into which Nanogenics could develop its portfolio.

Comment: It is interesting that N4P has decided that its share price is not a factor in preventing it raise money to get on with its strategy, something which perhaps says as much as anything else regarding the state of the small cap space currently.

Synectics (SNX) report an additional contract with West Midlands Police to improve response times by integrating the thousands of video feeds from many different systems operated by the National Highways Agency with SNX’s open software platform  to the various control rooms. Interims to May 2023 showed a 14% increase in Revenue to £21.9m which was mainly due to a strong Oil and Gas market and this transport contract is a positive sign. Interims show a sharp increase in underlaying profits to £0.8m and EPS up 76% to 3.7p and management are confident of a much stronger H2.

Comment:  The Finals to November 2023 could see EPS at 11p and the shares on a P/E 10x, at 112.5p and dividend paying its hard to see what’s not to like.

Cizzle Biotechnology (CIZ), the UK based diagnostics developer, announce its interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2023. The company said it continued to make excellent progress during the first half of 2023 as key milestones were met in the development of its proprietary assay for the CIZ1B biomarker which is highly associated with early stage lung cancer.  About 5,000 people die of lung cancer every day which in part is due to the lack of simple tests that can detect cancer early and as a result lead to diagnosis when the disease is more advanced and survival rates are poor.

Comment: It is amazing that it is up to small listed companies to attempt to deliver a result on such a key aspect of healthcare – lung cancer, and perhaps at the same time, the stock market continues to value the progress CIZ has been making.

Bradda Head Lithium (BHL), the North America-focused lithium development group, announced an updated MRE at the Company’s Basin Project, Arizona.  As per the Gross Overriding Royalty Agreement with the Lithium Royalty Company, this new contained LCE Tonnage which is well over the contracted threshold of 1Mt, has enabled the Company to trigger the payment of $2.5 million from LRC. The Company has requested this payment be made. BHL said the increase in LCE at Basin East Extension and into Basin North highlights the impressive potential that we have always believed is inherent at the Basin Project. The total drilled area at Basin East/Basin East Extension/Basin North still only covers 2.5km2 of our 41km2 license area at Basin and Wikieup. It believes that 2024 is going to be another exciting year of resource growth for Bradda Head.

Comment: BHL has been needing a shot in the arm for quite a while, especially in terms of its share price. Today’s news could be enough to get the ball rolling in terms of a revival.

Avacta Group (AVCT), a life sciences company, announced its unaudited interim results for the six months ending 30 June 2023. The company said the clinical data emerging for our lead pre|CISIONTM drug, AVA6000, is ground-breaking. It is seeing a dramatic reduction in the usual toxicities associated with anthracycline chemotherapy and it has clear indications that doxorubicin is being released in active form in the tumour microenvironment.

Comment: One gets the feeling that this summer was the time that AVCT got itself over the line / past the point of no return as far as AVA6000, and that the share price will reflect this going forward.

Metals One (ME1), which is advancing battery metal projects at brownfield sites in Finland and Norway, announced its unaudited interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2023. The company said the six-month period ended 30 June 2023 was incredibly busy for the Company as it worked towards completion of its IPO and concurrent acquisitions of European brownfield battery metals projects which occurred after the reporting period.

Comment: ME1 is a standout as far as its access to the central European markets, the funding profile and the carbon footprint. One would expect the stock to press home this advantage as compared to other recent mining listings.

Technology Minerals (TM1), the first listed UK company focused on creating a sustainable circular economy for battery metals, announced its 48.25% owned battery recycling business, Recyclus Group Ltd, has successfully completed the commissioning phase at the UK’s first industrial scale lithium-ion battery recycling facility in Wolverhampton, West Midlands. TM1 said it was pleased to announce that Recyclus has successfully completed the commissioning phase at its Li-ion battery recycling plant. This milestone allows us to commence commercial operations and is another step towards the realisation of its planned processing rate.

Comment: While there seem to be more stages that getting to Nirvana in term of the facility in Wolverhamption, TM1 does seem to be getting there as far as actually doing some recycling.

Ascent Resources (AST), the AIM quoted European and Latin American focused natural resources company reported its interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2023. The company said that during the Period, the Tribunal was constituted for the Company’s Energy Charter Treaty damages claim against the Republic of Slovenia. Accordingly, the Company has been working with its legal representatives, Enyo Law LLP, to prepare its ECT memorial, which was submitted post the Period under review.

Comment: Interestingly enough, it would appear that as well as being focused on natural resources, for AST, being in disputes with other entities is kind of its thing. Obviously, we are waiting on the big Slovenia win here.

Cobra (COBR), a gold, rare earth and IOCG exploration company focused on the Wudinna Project in South Australia, announced its financial results for the six months ended 30 June 2023. The company said the period culminated in what may be one of the most important developments in the Australian rare earths sector – the Boland discovery of proven ionic rare earth mineralisation in palaeo-channel which is amenable to low-cost, low-disturbance in situ recovery using well established techniques in South Australia. This is globally unique and a result of exceptional technical competency for which I congratulate Rupert Verco and Robert Blythman in particular.

Comment: Perhaps rather frustratingly to date, the market has not embraced COBR’s news regarding REE’s in terms of buying the stock. Nevertheless, one would expect the significance of what the company is sitting on to sink in sooner rather than later.

Phoenix Copper (PXC), the AIM-quoted USA-focused base and precious metals emerging producer and exploration company, announced its unaudited interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2023. The company said  that Corporate copper bond documentation was being finalised, prior to listing on The International Stock Exchange in the Channel Islands, and anticipated closing of an initial tranche of up to $80 million.

Comment: The long awaited arrival of $80m should of course be transformational for PXC, so much so that one almost feels like engaging in a whip round to expedite the process.

Reabold Resources (RBD), the oil & gas investing company with a diversified portfolio of exploration, appraisal and development projects, announces its unaudited interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2023. RBD said the next 12 months will be exciting for Reabold with anticipated newsflow on its key assets and the expected receipt of the £9.5 million contingent payment from Shell (as the balance of the consideration for the Victory project). It will continue with its disciplined strategy to allocate capital to undervalued oil & gas assets where their development benefits from being close to existing infrastructure and there is a clear path to monetisation.

Comment: One would hope that the mention of the £9.5m arriving from Shell might focus minds on how out of kilter the share price and sentiment towards the company is with the fundamental reality. Those who are long in the tooth will be expecting the capitulation of the bulls to come very soon.

Hummingbird Resources (HUM) announced its unaudited results for the six months ended 30 June 2023 and provide details of a Group refinancing package with the Company’s financing partner Coris Bank International. HUM said its  H1-2023 performance of over 51 Koz of gold produced at an H1-2023 AISC profile of $1,170 per oz and $33 million of group EBITDA. It has agreed a refinancing package with it financing partner Coris Bank, who remain committed supporters to Hummingbird’s growth platform. This package will provide additional flexibility in 2023 to allow Kouroussa to reach steady state production and provide additional capital support for the Group,

Comment: With the latest kicker regarding the refinancing package, as well as the massive $33m EDITDA, one would expect the recent base-building by HUM shares to be resolved on the upside as the autumn begins. The year’s peak near 20p seems a fair valuation given the newsflow.

Dekel Agri-Vision (DKL), the West African agribusiness company, announced its unaudited interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2023. DKL said the Palm Oil Operation is experiencing potentially its best year in terms of both relatively strong production volumes and sales price which sets up a strong full year financial performance.  The Cashew Operation has significant upside as daily production volumes continue to increase since transitioning to commercial production in early 2023.

Comment: The big turnaround at DKL has been a long time coming, and it is good that the company has today reminded us that Palm Oil is flying, and that Cashew is set to add to the party. The shares do not reflect the improved fundamentals.

Sovereign Metals (SVML) released its Kasiya Pre-Feasibility Study Results. The company said it was  positioned to become the world’s largest rutile producer at 222kt per annum for an initial 25 year life-of-mine. It is potentially one of the world’s largest natural graphite producers outside of China at 244kt per annum. The Project is well positioned to be a large scale, multi-generational asset with significant opportunity for further upside as only 30% of the current mineral resource is utilised in the PFS model.

Comment: SVML has been one of the best fundamental stories in the junior mining space, something which has been given added sizzle by the arrival of Rio Tinto. Given that the shares are currently lower when that de-risking event occurring, value hunters have a good play in this stock.

Atlantic Lithium (ALL), the African-focused lithium exploration and development company, announced its audited results for the year ended 30 June 2023. The company said over a 12-year mine life, the DFS outlines the production of 3.6Mt spodumene concentrate, delivering free cash flow of S$2.4bn from $6.6bn Life of Mine revenues, a post-tax NPV8 of US$1.5bn and an Internal Rate of Return of 105%. These outcomes further showcase the Project as an industry-leading asset.

Comment: The great ALL bear attack has provided an opportunity for bargain hunters in the still very hot lithium space. It will be interesting to see how long the stock can remain at relatively depressed levels, in the face of the fundamental progress the company is clearly making.

Genflow (GENF) announced its half year results for the six-month period ended 30 June 2023. The Company said it continues to maintain a secure financial position and has sufficient cash reserves until March 2025. This is inclusive of grant funding. GENF has continued to make progress with its two principal longevity programs: NASH (Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis) – where the Company is seeking to reverse aging fibrotic livers to normal functionality. The Company is seeking to ensure swift first-in-human trials; and Werner Syndrome – where the Company is seeking to improve the lives of patients suffering with this accelerated aging disease.

Comment: Given the reputation of biotech as being cash hungry, it is only right that GENF underlines its cash runway. That said, the company’s two key programs and progress in them should not be underestimated.

Golden Metal Resources (GMET), a strategic mineral exploration and development company focused on Nevada, USA, announced exploration work has confirmed the potential for large scale porphyry and skarn type copper mineralised bodies at the Company’s 100% owned Garfield project located within the prolific Walker Lane Mineral Belt in Nevada, USA. GMET said it was very excited about the discovery of what appears to be both skarn-type as well as porphyry deposit geochemical signatures within the Garfield Project’s High-Grade Zone, where minimal historical rock sampling returned up to 5.53% copper.

Comment: Once again GMET underlines that it is the poster child of the recent mining IPOs in the small cap space, with frequent, significant newsflow. There is every reason to believe that below the listing share price is the value / bargain zone for investors.

Firering Strategic Minerals (FRG), an exploration company focusing on critical minerals, announced its interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2023. The company said after the period, and supported by the positive results from Part 1 of the Phase II auger drilling campaign, it announced its intention to start a 3,000m RC drilling campaign at Atex, which it believes has the potential to become a significant lithium producer in Côte d’Ivoire. Post period, activity levels further increased and it was delighted to have agreed an option agreement with Limeco Resources, which owns a limestone project in Zambia.

Comment: We have seen a good period of fresh newsflow from FRG, over and above its oversubscribed fund raise. One would expect the shares to take their place again in the leading pack of London listed lithium plays.

Pires Investments (PIRI), the investment company focused on next-generation technology, announced its unaudited interim results for the six-month period ended 30 June 2023. The company said the first half of 2023 has continued to be a difficult time for small-cap listed companies and for those companies with a technology focus.  However, notwithstanding this market backdrop, Pires has been able to broadly maintain the value of its portfolio and a number of the Company’s investments have also continued to make good progress during the period.  In particular: Smarttech247, as a quoted company, has continued to grow revenue and EBITDA and is winning new contracts.

Comment: An investment company in a bear market is perhaps not going to be a hot spot for investors, but even so at current share price levels / valuations, one has to say that PIRI is rated as pocket change.

RiverFort Global Opportunities (RGO) announced its unaudited interim results for the six months to 30 June 2023.  The company said that given the difficult market conditions of 2022 continuing into 2023, RGO has continued to accumulate and preserve cash during the period such that at the period end the Company had a cash balance of £2.4 million. This strategy has, however, resulted in a reduction in investment income, although at the same time, the Company has broadly maintained its NAV.

Comment: RGO is another company boosted by S247, and trading at a 55% to NAV despite having £2.4m in the bank. To say that the stock market treats companies unfairly these days is an understatement.

Reabold Resources (RBD), the oil & gas investing company with a diversified portfolio of exploration, appraisal and development projects, announced that the Environmental Agency permit for the use of oil-based drilling fluids at the West Newton B-2 well has been approved. RBD said it was delighted to receive approval from the EA for the West Newton B site. Its studies have clearly demonstrated that the use of oil-based drilling mud will be a key factor in enhancing flow rates from wells in this field, and therefore this is an important step for the drilling of the B-2 horizontal well next year. West Newton is potentially one of the largest hydrocarbon fields discovered onshore UK and it remains focused on developing and unlocking the significant resource potential of this asset.

Comment: The EA thumbs up is certainly a key development for RBD, especially given the way that the company’s valuation is so low. It could finally be the trigger for a long awaited re-rate for the stock, given the “significant resource potential” of West Newton.

Zinc Media Group (ZIN) interims to June are reported as being excellent, with a 68% increase in Revenue to £18.1m, Gross Margins up to 41% from 33% as there is growth in both TV and Content Production. The EBITDA turned from a loss to a profit of £0.2m and this represents Zinc’s best performance for over a decade.  It’s clients are basically all the TV and broadcasting channels including Sky, BBC, ITV, Discovery etc. who want more content. Last month, following the Trading up-date directors added 303,856 shares to their holding at the current price. June’s Trading update reported total orders won and due to be recognised in FY23 is £31m. The pipeline remains strong a further £7m of revenue for recognition in H2 is in highly advanced discussions. The cash of £5.8m around is sufficient for the significant planned organic growth.

Comment:  The £20m Mkt Cap at 92p remains well below the year’s high and seem so its lights, camera and H2 action.

Bluebird Merchant Ventures (BMV) high grade gold prospect is to be drilled in the Philippines by the mine resurrection company (it reworks previous mines). The Batangas prospect is being developed with a highly experienced JV local partner and the three -phase drill program will initially  focus on an untested area but highly prospective area. The Philippines partner has already invested $20m in the project and the structure gives BMV shareholders a free carry to the decision in return for 60% of the project equity.

Comment: After the £1.125m funding in March at 2p this should be positive news for the 0.75p shares.

Great Western Mining (GWMO) which is exploring and developing gold, silver and copper targets in Nevada, announced its unaudited results for the six-months ended 30 June 2023. GWMO said its portfolio underpins the Company’s strong growth potential and value upside.  We are expecting to commence production of gold and silver concentrates during the second half, using the significant volumes of material on our claims and, in due course, material from third parties.

Comment: It could be said that everyone and their mother are sitting on the edge of their seats waiting on the commencement of GWMO’s gold and silver concentrates, something which will market a strong fundamental inflection point for the company.

OptiBiotix Health (OPTI), a life sciences business developing compounds to tackle obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and skincare, announced its unaudited results for the six months ended 30 June 2023. The company reported strong first half of trading with sales of £351k (2022: £119k), a 195% increase over H1 2022. Given H1 2022 included £19.5k from Probiotic sales up to March 30 2022, the ‘like for like’ increase is 251%. 85% of this sales income was received in Q2 2023.

Comment: OPTI finesses its great 2023 transformation reminding us how well it was doing even before this transformation took place. Still basking in the afterglow of last week’s Boots deal, we can look forward to the shares finishing the year with a flourish.

Pantheon Resources (PANR), the oil and gas company with a 100% working interest in the Kodiak and Ahpun projects, advised that operations for the re-entry at Alkaid-2 have now commenced. The company said it was pleased that operations for the re-entry at Alkaid-2 have now begun. As stated, it was not targeting maximum flow rates, instead, this programme is designed to allow for as much data gathering as possible.

Comment: Now that PANR has new found credibility in terms of its assets, announcement like today effectively become a lap of honour. They also underpin the recent stellar share price recovery.

Yesterday SEEEN (SEEN), the media technology platform that delivers Key Video Moments and Shoppable Video Prompts to transform video profitability, announce a TR1 revealing that The 181 Fund Limited was in on the shareholder register at 7%.

Comment: This is a decent validation for the company after the recent well received Technology Day presentation. One would expect further recovery in the stock, over and above what has been delivered in recent days.

Panther Metals (PALM) the company focused on mineral exploration in Canada announced the acquisition by staking of 19 additional single cell mining claims, covering circa 415 hectares (4.15km2). The company said Manitou Lakes is rapidly developing into one of the most exciting greenfield gold exploration projects in Ontario. The drilling successes being reported this year by Dynasty Gold within the region combined with the proposed listing of our direct neighbour Dryden Gold this autumn on the TSXV has helped drive a staking rush in the area that now makes it almost impossible for new entrants to gain a foothold.

Comment: PALM joins the gold rush in Ontario, something which drives the recent positive moment behind junior miners in London focused on the space. Ideally, today’s news keeps the share price on the right side of 3p.

i3 Energy (I3E), an independent oil and gas company with assets and operations in the UK and Canada, has been notified that on 22 September 2023 and 25 September 2023, Jason Dranchuk, Chief Financial Officer, purchased in aggregate 200,000 ordinary shares at a price of CAD 0.215 per share.

Comment: Given the resurgent oil price, and the still low end of the range share price of i3, it is certainly logical that we see management of the company wading in to buy shares at cheap levels.

Rainbow Rare Earths (RBW) announced that it has agreed conditionally to issue 30 million new ordinary shares in the Company at a price of 15p per Ordinary Share, thereby raising gross proceeds of £4.50 million. The company said this is an exciting time for the Phalaborwa project, following the milestone production of the mixed rare earth sulphate from the front-end pilot plant in South Africa and with the production of separated rare earth oxides from our back-end pilot plant in the US expected in Q4 2023.

Comment: RBW has been able to take advantage of a recent strong share price run by raising a decent chunk of change. It is clear that these funds will be put to good work, especially at Phalaborwa.

CleanTech Lithium (CTL), an exploration and development company, advancing sustainable lithium projects in Chile, announced the results of a recently completed Scoping Study for the Francisco Basin Project, which confirmed the project’s outstanding economics, potential for future resource expansion and strong ESG credentials. The company said the Scoping Study provides added confidence in the robust economics of our second project, Francisco Basin, based on low operating and capital costs, with a post-tax NPV of $1.1 billion and IRR of 43.5%, and a payback period of 2 years and 7 months. The study further advances the process and technical design concept for the project, with strong ESG principles incorporated at each stage.

Comment: It rather beggars belief that shares of CTL remain anywhere below their February 90p peak given the progress the company has made on proving up the economics of Francisco Basin today, and proved that fears over Chilean mining sector legislation are misplaced.

LifeSafe (LIFS), a fire safety technology business, reported its unaudited Interim Results for the six months ended 30 June 2023. The company said it was pleased to announce another positive set of financial results that reflect the continued growth and development of its business. It said that it was delighted that it announced its first major partnership in the development of its industrial strategy with Wormald in Australia.  This milestone is a long way ahead of its expectations even though it has been working and testing with Wormald for over 18 months.

Comment: It was always the case that LIFS was going to lay the foundation of its business via the consumer area, and then turbo charge it via an industrial strategy. The merit of this plan has clearly panned out as the company looks set to be EBITDA positive at the full year, given the strength at the interim stage. This state of affairs should finally be appreciated in terms of the stock market and the share price.

Newmark Security (NWT) reported finals to April 2023 showing a 6.1% increase in Revenue to £20.3m with a satisfying  jump in Gross Profits Margins to 37.6%. NWT, provide electronic and physical security systems and have invested in significantly in product innovation launching its cloud platform GT Connect which increases the scalability of its services. The success is evidenced by reporting EBITDA of £1.5m compared to loss and PBT of £0.4m against a £0.8m loss. The quality of earnings is also improving with the Human Capital Management (MCM) division SaaS model’s recurring revenue increasing 133% to £2.1m. There are strong performances in Access Control and the guarding divisions, Safetell.  A cost-effective retail attack-resistant screen has been relaunched for convenience stores with over £1m worth of installations to major UK retailers and a pipeline of over £2m. Cash flow is positive and working capital tightly manged so an equity funding for organic growth is not required.

Comment: As NWT move further up the tech chain its scalability and profits should improve which does not seem reflected in the £5.1m mkt cap at 54.5p.

Symphony Environmental Technologies (SYM), the global specialists in technologies that make plastic and rubber products smarter, safer and more sustainable, announced that the Republic of Yemen has commenced the enforcement of legislation that was passed in 2010 but delayed due to the civil war. The company said this is a very positive step forward for its d2w biodegradable plastic technology in one of the largest plastic producing and consuming areas in the Middle East. It builds on a continual process of change throughout the region towards plastic products that are scientifically proven to be better for the environment than ordinary plastics or other alternative materials. Plastic products made with d2w have the lowest Co2 emissions and environmental impact of all the current alternatives and we believe that the adoption of its type of low cost, non-disruptive technology will continue to build globally.

Comment: It would appear that everything comes to they who wait, and for SYM we have the kind of announcement which could be the platform for a better appreciation of the company, and the contribution it can make to the plastic waste crisis via its biodegradable plastic technology.

Boku (BOKU), a provider of global mobile payment solutions, announced unaudited interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2023. Revenues were up 26% to $38.2m in H1 (H1 2022: $30.3m) and up 32% on a constant currency basis driven by increasing transaction volumes from its major global merchants. The company said all parts of the business are performing well, and ahead of its internal budget at the time of the capital markets day earlier this year. The triple digit growth from wallets and account to account payments now means that these newer payment methods have come from next to nothing this time last year to account for nearly 20% of its revenue.

Comment: Boku is one of the rare standout performers at the smaller market cap part of the market, with the demand for its payments from global merchants an obvious driver, and underlining the way the company is in the right area at the right time.

Bushveld Minerals (BMN), the integrated primary vanadium producer and energy storage solutions provider, announced its interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2023. The company said the improved production at Vanchem, thanks to measures described in the Q2 operational update, tells it that it has a plant that is capable of reaching its full potential. It must now consolidate the improved efficiencies and achieve sustained target growth of 180mtV per month for Vanchem by the end of 2023. With incremental month-to-month improvements, it should be in a position of attaining this by the end of 2023.

Comment: It can be seen from the latest RNS from BMN that the company is seeing a positive turnaround from an operational / fundamental perspective. This makes it all the more puzzling that the recent temporary recovery in the share price has fizzled out for now.

Oxford BioDynamics, (OBD), a biotechnology company, announced that validation of its EpiSwitch Prostate Screening (PSE) test in its US clinical (CLIA-certified) laboratory is now complete, ahead of schedule. The company said there is a clear need in everyday clinical practice for a much more accurate blood test that can screen men for prostate cancer and accurately identify those at risk, while sparing those who up to now would be subject to unnecessary, expensive, and invasive procedures. It feels wholly appropriate that the early launch of the test coincides with Prostate Cancer Awareness month.

Comment: It is perhaps in the nature of those who are most vulnerable to prostate cancer that they are the least likely to get tested, or even be bothered about it. Nevertheless, OBD’s work in this area is obviously a key breakthrough.

eEnergy (EAAS), the net zero energy services provider, announced that is has secured a contract to provide onsite solar energy generation to its existing customer, Tudor Grange Academies Trust. The Total Contract Value is £3.0 million, resulting in £1.9 million revenues to eEnergy which will be recognised across FY23 and FY24. The company said eEnergy’s relationship with TGAT started with the provision of Energy Management services, including the use of eEnergy’s eAuction platform to facilitate an online marketplace with 25 energy suppliers, for their gas and electricity supply, including zero-carbon options. It was pleased to be awarded the mandate in October 2022 for the provision of LED lighting across the Trust. This latest project illustrates eEnergy’s ability to provide end to end solutions for management and provision of low carbon energy to organisations.

Comment: The Sunak U-turn on net zero notwithstanding, it is still the case that any company involved in the green gravy train is totally on the up currently and for the foreseeable future. The solid contract win for EAAS underlines this reality.

Yü Group (YU.), the independent supplier of gas and electricity, meter asset owner, and installer of smart meters to the UK corporate sector, announces its unaudited half-year results for the six months to 30 June 2023.  Revenue growth of 51% to £194.9m (H1 2022: £129.2m), through continued execution of growth strategy. Adjusted EBITDA increased to £13.7m (H1 2022: £2.7m) as the Group benefits from increased net customer contribution through differentiated market offering.

Comment: Given that it is difficult to find a good headline involving smart meters, it is of course interesting to see Yu Group clean up in the corporate sector, versus the moans and groan of households. Perhaps the message for those facing the prospect of being forced to have smart meters is to buy shares in YU. on a “don’t get mad, get even” basis?

Allergy Therapeutics (AGY), the fully integrated commercial biotechnology, announced the completion of dosing of healthy volunteers in the first two cohorts in the Phase I PROTECT trial of its novel virus-like particle (VLP)-based peanut allergy vaccine candidate. Dosing of the subsequent cohorts will begin now that the approval from the external safety review committee (SRC) has been received. The company said peanut allergy is one of the most common types of food allergies. For some people, even the smallest amounts of peanuts can cause a potentially life-threatening reaction. A safe and effective short-course vaccine that provides long-term protection and a long-lasting protective immune response can bring a paradigm shift in treating peanut allergy, changing the lives of those living with the allergy.

Comment: Given the increasing prevalence of allergies of all kinds, the good work being carried out by AGY is all the more appreciated.  It is perhaps amazing that even though we are well into the 21^st century, a cure for peanut allergy has not been delivered. That said, one could probably say the same for baldness, obesity and wrinkles. At least we cracked Covid 19…

The company also aims to increase its Creator Service Partner (CSP) by adding higher margin channels such as sports, retail, services, financial publishing. There are currently 4 strategic customers publishers,14 vertical market customers, 4 e-commerce led customers. Further announcements seem likely.

Once profitable the organic growth is likely to be leveraged with acquisitions and helped by Adrian’s  former corporate finance experience.

Finals December 2022

The main trend was transition and changing the revenue mix from low margin advertising commission to focus on value added paid for services with a revenue share resulting in  higher margins.  So, turnover of $3.3m is down from $9.8m, but gross margins have improved to 15.2% from, 10.6% and the EBITDA loss reduced to $0.9m from $2.1m.

Comment:  Seeen, own the IP on value adding technology services with a large market opportunity.  Last month, Directors brought shares and the Interims to June should be the start of brighter prospects.

Invinity Energy Systems (IES), a manufacturer of utility-grade energy storage, announced its unaudited consolidated results for the six months ended 30 June 2023 and an update on current trading. £14.8m total income including sales revenue and project-related grant income, a 10x increase YoY (H1 2022: £1.5m). £3.3m gross loss reflecting previously disclosed and accounted for contract losses on Canadian and Australian projects (H1 2022: loss £2.1m). The company also announced that the United States Department of Energy plans to fund projects that will use 84 MWh of Invinity’s next-generation product, code-named “Mistral,” in six sites across the U.S.  IES said that when it released its final results for 2022, it said that 2023 would be an inflection point. It saw record income first half, up by ten times year over year. It made significant progress on Mistral, its joint product development with Gamesa Electric and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy.

Comment: It would appear that the U.S. Government is splashing out the cash at the moment, with it being an obvious validation for the company and its flagship Mistral product. If the shares are not back at year highs through 60p in a heartbeat one would want to know the reason why.

There was a TR1 for Mirriad Advertising (MIRI), with new entrants to the shareholder register in at 12%. The RNS stated that the increase in shareholding outlined in this form has been driven by the all-share combination of Rathbones Group Plc with Investec Wealth & Investment Limited which completed on 21st September 2023.

Comment: We have a very posh sounding TR1, based in the Channel Islands for Mirriad, so the stakebuilding sounds serious for what has been a rollercoaster for shareholders.

Oracle Power (ORCP), the international natural resources project developer, announced its unaudited interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2023. The company said that during the first half of 2022, it actively pivoted towards a more environmentally responsible project development strategy, by selecting green energy development to be a part of its portfolio.  This has continued into 2023. It remains determined to generate value from the investments that it has made. It has launched another significant renewable power project to create further development opportunities on its coal block in Thar.

Comment: It has been a long journey for shareholders, but it would appear that as we head for the home stretch of 2023, ORCP has delivered enough of a strategic turnaround to signal that it will deliver on its project developer handle. This is especially given the new ESG / green angles.

Altona (REE), a resource exploration and development company focused on Rare Earths in Africa, is pleased to announce its maiden JORC compliant Mineral Resource Estimate for its Monte Muambe rare earths project in Mozambique. 13.6 million tons at 2.42% TREO(1) using a cut-off grade of 1.5% TREO; Including 0.31% NdPrO(2) representing 42,500 contained tons NdPrO. The company said Monte Muambe’s maiden MRE is an important milestone. This is the first ever official measure of the size and grade of the project and it is delighted with the results, which confirm the presence of a potentially open-pit mineable REE resource. The Company is now finalising its Scoping Study, which will give a first-pass economic viability overview of the project, to the highest standard.

Comment: REE is the new rock and roll in mining, and for this to be open-pit mineable is even more pleasing for ANR. It would appear the company is delivering on the promise of its backers and management.

Coro Energy (CORO), the South East Asian energy company with a natural gas and clean energy portfolio, announced its unaudited interim results for the six-month period ended 30 June 2023. Reduced loss after tax from continuing operations of $2.5m (restated H1 2022: $3.8m) mainly due to the contribution of gross profit from Vietnam operations and a reduction in net finance expense. The Company said it has a strong funding position from a combination of its cash position of approximately $0.7m (as at 30 June 2023), and more recently supported by the post balance sheet events of the sale of shares in ion Ventures Holding Ltd and a further advance of Italy sale proceeds.

Comment: It is to be hoped that today’s RNS is taken well enough for the recent spike in the shares to continue, something which is deserved given the wat that the company has moved on its timelines.

Tertiary Minerals (TYM) announced that it and its local partner, Mwashia Resources Ltd have signed a detailed, largely non-binding, term sheet for an earn-in and joint venture agreement with a third party providing for the Third Party to earn into Exploration Licence 27067-HQ-LEL, the Konkola West Project in Zambia. The Company said it was delighted to announce the signing of this term sheet and a re-alignment of its existing agreement with Mwashia. It is envisaged that the Stage 1 drill holes will extend beyond 1km depth. Tertiary will now seek to enter into a binding EIJV Agreement with the Third party and Mwashia as soon as possible.

Comment: Shares of TYM have had a decent summer, and the latest RNS could be the one to push sentiment and the share price further in a positive direction.

Cora Gold (CORA), the West African focused gold company, announced its unaudited interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2023. Following the recent promulgation of a new Mining Code in Mali, it looks forward to the government’s lifting of its moratorium on issuing new mining permits. In addition, it looks forward to providing progress updates on the funding of the Sanankoro Gold Project following the appointment of Atlantique Finance to act as sole adviser in the structuring and mobilisation of a medium-term loan of $70 million to support funding the development of the project.

Comment: Given how much positive work and effort Bert Monro and his team have done at Cora, the mining code issue seems very unfair. We look forward to the end of the moratorium.

Baron Oil (BOIL), the AIM-quoted oil and gas exploration and appraisal company focused on assets in SE Asia and the UK, announced its unaudited interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2023. The company said all of its efforts are currently focused on the Chuditch PSC drilling decision to be made late in 2023 for a Chuditch-1 appraisal well. It is making good progress and are in advanced discussions with a number of potential funding partners.

Comment: It will be interesting to see whether “late 2023” is soon enough for BOIL holders, given that the main sizzle in the share price in February has rather diminished in intervening months.

Venture Life Group (VLG) Interims to September reported a 24% increase in revenue to £23.5m which include the synergistic HL Healthcare acquisition made in November 2022. The total consideration was £13m of which the £8m cash consideration is being paid through internal sources. The like-for-like sales, would have been 10.4% ahead with Gross margins improving to 18.9% but the loss before tax was £1.3m due to high financing cost etc. VLG develop, manufacture and most importantly commercialise its own brand and branded products for the international self-care market. The wide products range include Balance Activ (woman’s product) and are typically recommended by pharmacists or healthcare practitioners, available primarily through pharmacies and grocery multiples with 17 new listing with major retailers.  The order book has increased 30% suggesting a better balance of product benefits and price. There is increasing effort being made with online sales which are 69% ahead to just£1.6m suggesting plenty of further growth. The full year forecast is for profits and there is a Revolving Credit facility for up £30m of which around £15m is drawn down.

Comment: The biggest fly in the ointment for the shares at 32p with a £40m Mkt Cap is the debt burden, although self care does seem hard work.

Oxford Cannabinoid Technologies (OCTP), the pharmaceutical company developing prescription cannabinoid medicines, announced that the final dose of its lead pharmaceutical drug compound, OCT461201, has been successfully administered, as part of its Phase I clinical trial, with no drug adverse effects observed. The company said it expects to report results by 16 October 2023.

Comment: It would appear that OCTP is moving along its timelines in a very satisfactory manner, with investors currently having just a three weeks window on the latest trial results. This could provide an opportunity for a squeeze higher in the shares.

Shuka Minerals (SKA), an African focused mine operator and developer, announced the Company’s unaudited interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2023. SKA said the period was a transformative one, particularly from a corporate perspective with a strategic investment of £1.47 million secured from two African focused mining investment groups, an intended significant restructuring of the Board of Directors, a change of name to Shuka Minerals.

Comment: A new name and a chunky strategic investment for SKA suggests that we could be right in expecting a MARU type re-rate here, an idea which has already shown its hand in terms of the share price.

Falcon Oil & Gas Ltd. (FOG) announced the spudding of the Amungee NW-3H horizontal well in exploration permit 98 with a H&P super-spec FlexRig® Flex 3 Rig in the Beetaloo Sub-basin, Northern Territory, Australia with Falcon Oil & Gas Australia Limited’s joint venture partner, Tamboran (B2) Pty Limited. The company said the spudding of the A3H horizontal well, just a week after drilling the SS1H well , is an exciting acceleration in the appraisal of the Beetaloo Sub-basin. It is confident that learnings and results from the previous two Amungee wells drilled in EP 98, together with the drilling of the SS1H well will have a positive impact on the outcome of the results from this A3H well.

Comment: With the shares bumping along the bottom for much of the summer, it will be interesting to see whether there is a decent bounce off the back of current spudding news.

Panther Metals (PALM) released its Half-year Report. The company said with a significant pipeline of high-quality exploration targets, focussed on critical minerals, in a Tier 1 mining jurisdiction, as well as material holdings in two other well respected explorers, the Board consider Panther will enjoy a significant rerating when the market turns to the positive. Having actively maintained it strategy to protect its capital structure to maintain shareholder value, it sees the prospect of delivering significant shareholder returns.

Comment: It would appear it is all about the pipeline, and given a solid funding backdrop one would expect the shares to continue their recent recovery.
