It’s beautiful—and when the timing is right, we love it. But there’s a misconception that a flower field is the only way to create that dreamy, romantic feeling in family photography.

We hear some version of this from senior girls all the time, and honestly, it’s one of the easiest things for us to reassure them about: you don’t have to know how to pose before you come to Studio B.

We firmly believe that senior portraits don’t have to be complicated to feel editorial. In fact, some of our favorite images happen when we take everything away and let the senior herself become the focus.

If the thought of senior pictures makes your son immediately say, “I don’t know what I’m supposed to do,” he’s in very good company.

Most senior guys aren’t walking into their session with a mental list of poses they’re excited to try. They usually just want to look good, get some great photos, and have the experience feel easy. That’s exactly how we like it, too.
