I got around to testing a printed "V" antenna base design today. The base was done with M10x1.5 threaded inserts, but I have adapters to permit use of whips with a 3/8-24 thread. This was an initial test print with modification. The current model is more refined.

I mounted the base on a fiberglass push-up pole with a ACME 3/4-5 threaded end, supported by a printed clamp...

Last night got my two Cobra 140 GTL radios off the shelf, and it was shortly after I noticed my mic's audio being way too loud.... This was using one of those 5 pin to 4 pin adapters. I tested various 4 pin microphones and all did the same exactly thing. Normal talking and it was too loud to the point of distortion.

I went to the site to look for some parts and to my surprise I found that Greg has sold it off. Not sure if the news is good or bad yet but time will tell. Brian at trucks is high on his prices so I won't be surprised if the prices go up on the new store.
