Two nights ago we woke up hot at 3:00am. The central air was on, but didn't seem to be cooling. The next day I checked the outside unit. The compressor was humming but the fan wasn't moving. I replaced the run/start capacitor (yes, I keep a spare) and bingo, it was back working. Total time to fix was less than 15 minutes. No, I'm not a HVAC tech. But if you're comfortable around...

I live in Rochester, MN and have a Sienna Glen Maple Tree that I think has a problem with the root system.  The tree is 25-30 tall and the trunk is 11" diameter.  The roots seem to be impeding on the growth of the trunk.  I assume maybe this is what they call "girdling"?  The little root on the right side is easy.  I think I just cut it off to prevent fu...

Hawk Moon
"Hawk Moon"

This piece is a turned White Oak plate turned around, I then added Padauk rays and a Hand carved Kokopelli made from Canarywood. Then I added two feathers carved from White Oak. The finish is lacquer the color is alcohol Inks, the whole piece is 14" D.

Latest project was a Murphy bed for our office. OK – maybe not “fine” furniture, but we need a spare bed (for guests) and sofa beds (IMO) are just not comfortable.
