I thought I’d start a build thread to document the journey with my new tank. I’m still relatively new to reefing – I bought my first tank a little over a year ago, a modestly sized second-hand setup that came fully stocked. That’s given me a good starting point, and here’s a shot of that current system so you can see where I’m coming from.

In need of some advice on maintaining water temperature during this heatwave, tank is currently sitting at 28.4 degree's Celsius and rising.

I'm running two banks of 4 fans one over the sump and one over the display
Reduced lighting intensity and photo period.
Have frozen bottles of RO-DI water floating in the tank and the sump
Cabinate door...

Well what can I Say the down grade has arrived

Hi All,

Just got my latest ICP results through and I’m getting some fairly concerning tin readings. I’ve done four ICP tests since setting up the tank.

My first ICP at the end of November last year showed tin at around 4 µg/l. At the time I wasn’t overly worried as I was told the tank was still relatively new and contamination can sometimes come from new system...
