Do I have to carve expanding foam or does gold label sealant work to seal it?3 hrs

I’m creating a paludarium for my musk turtle but have had a nightmare with silicone not curing for months etc. I’ve since ripped as much foam and silicone out as I could and re applied expanding foam, as per the picture.
