The Atlantic has contained entire landscapes, ecosystems and geological worlds that were completely unknown to humans until very recently. As sea levels rose following the last Ice Age, entire inhabited landscapes disappeared beneath the ocean. 

To this day, unusual objects continue to be observed in the Martian atmosphere. Some have been interpreted as possible UFOs or other unknown phenomena moving through Martian airspace.
