Scary Reading - considering new 2025 Crosstrek

I had a 1992 Subaru Legacy Wagon and loved it. But moved to Deep South 18 months later and ZERO Subaru dealers here for maintenance or repairs so sold it. My 2007 Honda CR-V has just 66k miles but is 18 years old now (ADULT). Just replaced starter. Needs tires, struts and shocks. Starting to think maybe time for new car before major issues.

Car revving up going down the highway

While on cruise control or not my 2020 turbo outback will rev up from 1900rpms to around 2400rpms and make a slight whistling noise for about 1 second and go back to normal. In about a 15 mile span it may do it about 6-8 times. Doesn’t seem to hurt the performance of the car and check engine light is not showing up. What could this possibly be ?

2025 Forester

I am looking at the 2025 Subaru Forester. I like the vehicle but have seen several negative comments about the audio system and not having knobs and concerns abiut safety issues with having to use the touchscreen. I am hoping there are some people on this forum who have this model and year who can share their input.
