Reading the 2026 Umpire Manual, it would appear that wearing shorts is not mentioned in the section of Umpire Uniform.

I know we've allowed shorts for umpires working slow pitch games locally. You can still buy "umpire shorts" online as well as socks.

Fed rules. A batted ball hits the top of the outfield fence and deflects over the fence in fair territory.

I just want to make sure I am interpreting this correctly. The batter is awarded 2 bases, not a home run. I am looking at rules 2.6.2 and 8.8.3.a and in the case book 8.3.3 situation H Ruling.
