This in my view is one worth looking into. I have posted a number of times. I see Jim is offering his barn gun in Cherry wood .

But since it doesn’t have a buttplate, I’ve read cherry is too soft and that’s just asking for chips and blowouts of the toe when loading.

I noticed I haven’t made a thread in a long time and I’m bored on a holiday morning.

Why does a Barn Gun hold so much interest? By its nature, it supposed to be left and possibly neglected in a draftly barn subjected to weather, dust, vermin, etc.

I already mentioned I have ordered a kit, but my interest is a shorter barrel and a new project.
