I always like to keep a homemade soft scrub on hand for household cleaning. Not only are DIY soft scrubs super easy to make, they work wonderfully too. You can make your own basic soft scrub with just baking soda and dish soap, but here’s an idea that also adds a little borax to the mixture. It’s a great way to add an extra cleaning boost to your homemade soft scrub recipe!

Here’s a recipe I’ve had in my recipe box for over 40 years. It’s an oldie but a goodie and most folks know this chocolate cake recipe as either Depression Cake (because yes, it’s an oldie) or as Wacky Cake. Sometimes I just think of it as a DIY chocolate cake mix because it can fill that role in your pantry too!

Homemade jar mixes are so handy to keep on hand. Spending a few minutes when you have the time to pour ingredients into jars can sure speed up things later on when it’s time to actually make the recipe.
