Greer Grade opened to one-lane alternating traffic Monday morning after being closed since Friday evening because of a wildfire.

A fire in Clarkston Heights off Quail Nest Drive on Sunday afternoon resulted in the deaths of a dog and cat.

Asotin County Fire District No.1 Chief Noel Hardin said the two residents who were in the home were evaluated on the scene but did not need medical attention.

GREER — The Greer Grade remains closed Sunday morning as the Greer Fire, estimated at 354 acres, remains 0% contained.

The grade, which is a portion of Idaho Highway 11, is expected to remain closed today as a Type 3 Incident Management team, consisting of 180 personnel, took command at 6 a.m. Sunday, according to a news release from the Idaho Department of Lands.
