I need to install LARGER string thru ferrules in a new Precision ash body "project". The existing holes are 9.59mm wide and need to enlarge to15.72mm wide. I also want to sink the upper lip flush which are 18.93mm wide. The depth is same for both ferrules at 14.20mm including the upper lip that is 1.54mm thick. Do you believe that the current stock Gibson bridge has a good tone? Does any company (like Mannmade) makes better bridges (closer to the old ones) than Gibson? I know that this is real with Strats, the 60's bridges had THE sound. How about Gibson?

I recently got this 57 junior which has obviously had some other tuners on it. Someone has slapped the originals back on which seems to work fine but the holes have been enlarged. I’m tempted to put Grovers on it but I believe the holes are not large enough for Grovers. Depending on what was on here before I would be tempted to put them back on.
