For one week at the end of June, Sawmill Landing Park in downtown Moss Point became a living gallery. Seven middle school artists, guided by the Walter Anderson Museum of Art, filled the park with portals, banners, and painted creatures made from materials the park itself provided. A tropical system in the Gulf is expected to bring heavy rain, gusty winds, and coastal flooding to the Mississippi Coast this week, and sandbag locations are open now for Moss Point residents. The Jackson County Office of Emergency Services announced sandbag availability on Monday, July 20, with two pickup sites inside the city limits.
