The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) has been playing a defining role at Bharat Tex – an initiative by Bharat Tex Trade Federation (BTTF), supported by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, to reinforce India’s growing stature as a globally competitive apparel sourcing and manufacturing destination. Being an integral part of Bharat Tex since its inception, CMAI’s extensive participation focuses on strengthening India’s apparel ecosystem through brand showcase, sustainability, policy dialogue and international collaboration.

At Bharat Tex 2026, for the third consecutive year, CMAI has facilitated participation of over 100 exhibitors across multiple halls, showcasing their offerings under diverse product categories including Apparel, Textiles, Brands of India, and the Sustainability & Circularity Impact Hub.

At the heart of CMAI’s participation at Bharat Tex 2026 is the Brands of India Pavilion, in Hall No. 4, which will bring together more than 70 leading Indian apparel brands, offering buyers and industry stakeholders a comprehensive showcase of the country’s vibrant apparel landscape. Marking a significant milestone, the Brands of India Pavilion will also feature, for the first time, a dedicated showcase of leading Intimate & Innerwear brands curated from Mumbai and Delhi, reflecting the rapid growth and increasing sophistication of one of India’s fastest-growing apparel categories.

Further strengthening India’s sustainability narrative, CMAI in collaboration with the Global Alliance for Textile Sustainability (GATS) will present the Eco-Stitch Sustainability & Circularity Hub, in Hall No. 14. Built around the theme ‘Sustainable, Circular and Competitive Bharat’, a collaborative pavilion integrating thematic experiences and exhibitor stalls to showcase India’s circular textile journey. The pavilion brings together recyclers, manufacturers, brands, innovators, technology providers, and ecosystem partners across five thematic areas – India Impact Wall, Circularity at Scale, From Waste to Global Wardrobe, Made in Circular Bharat, Material & Innovation Library, and Circular Bharat Forum. The initiative reinforces India’s emergence as a diversified, responsible and future-ready sourcing destination capable of delivering both scale and sustainability.

Speaking about the Impact Hub, Naveen Sainani, Hon. Gen. Secretary & Chairman – ESG Committee, CMAI, expressed, “Global sourcing today demands sustainability, traceability and compliance. The CMAI-GATS Sustainability & Circularity Impact Hub is designed to showcase India’s readiness to meet these expectations while connecting manufacturers, brands and buyers to build future-ready, responsible textile value chains. The Impact Hub reflects India’s transition from being a cost-competitive manufacturing base to becoming a future-ready sourcing partner. By bringing together sustainable products, technologies, and industry expertise, we aim to help manufacturers and buyers navigate evolving global compliance requirements while unlocking new growth opportunities.”

This Impact Hub will bring together leading organisations such as Grasim, GIZ, UNEP, UNIDO, Alliance for Textile Sustainability, Centre for Responsible Business (CRB), Conserve India, Fashion for Change (FMC), IDH, Green Stitch, Grant Thornton, H&M, Fashion for Good, Canopy, Otteri, Reput, Restart Alliance, Recore, Ramsons, and several others highlighting their innovations and successful sustainability initiatives under one roof. During the 4 days of Bharat Tex, the Eco-Stitch Sustainability & Circularity Hub, will witness release of Sustainability Reports, Product Launches, Industry Roundtables, Investor & Buyer Connect Sessions, Technology Demonstrations, Case Study Presentations and MoU Signings, among other activities.

Beyond exhibitions, CMAI’s engagement at Bharat Tex 2026 reflects its leadership in shaping the industry’s future. The Association will host the Board Meeting of the International Apparel Federation (IAF), bringing together global industry leaders for strategic deliberations, followed by an exclusive networking dinner. Alongside the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI), CMAI will also host a high-level panel discussion titled “Brands of a Billion: The Great Indian Revolution,” exploring India’s evolving consumer landscape and the emergence of globally competitive Indian brands. Furthermore, CMAI is also hosting a panel discussion on “Indian Brands Going Global”. Industry stalwarts participating in the discussions include names like P.
