Atlanta, GA – When he‘s talking about upgrading security at the White House, President Trump is on strong ground politically,” said Jenny Beth Martin, Chairman of Tea Party Patriots Action. “A strong majority of voters agree that Congress has an obligation to fund serious security upgrades to the White House complex, including a secure ballroom – and this survey was fielded before the most recent security incident at the White House over the holiday weekend. Members of Congress should take heed and act accordingly.

“Moreover, President Trump’s recent announcement of his appointment of Vice President Vance to head a new anti-fraud task force shows his political instincts are dead on,” Martin said. “Strong majorities want action against fraud in government programs – they believe that Congress should require a permanent system to detect and prevent fraud before taxpayer money is spent; they believe that stopping waste, fraud, and corruption should be a top priority; and they believe that cutting government fraud is the most direct path to bringing prices down.

“President Trump’s broad political and legislative agenda boasts strong support from the overwhelming majority of voters,” continued Martin. “Whether the issue is funding serious security upgrades to the White House complex or cutting government fraud as a means to bringing prices down, or preventing Iran from controlling the Strait of Hormuz or ending birthright citizenship for the children of illegal aliens – or passing the SAVE America Act – President Trump’s agenda is a winner.”

According to the results of the new survey conducted by McLaughlin & Associates for Tea Party Patriots Action, among general election voters:

59 percent agree that Congress has an obligation to fund serious security upgrades to the White House complex, including a secure ballroom;
82 percent agree that only United States citizens should be allowed to vote in elections for the American president, senators, and representatives;
56 percent agree that the United States Senate should continue to work to pass the SAVE America Act before this year’s elections.
83 percent agree that Congress should require a permanent system to detect and prevent fraud before taxpayer money is spent;
81 percent agree that stopping waste, fraud, and corruption should be a top priority;
70 percent agree that cutting government fraud is the most direct path to bringing prices down;
71 percent agree that Iran should not be allowed to block, attack, mine, or extort ships in the Strait of Hormuz; and
58 percent agree that birthright citizenship should only apply to children born to U.S. citizens or people who are here legally on a permanent basis.

The survey of 1,000 general election voters was fielded from May 12th – May 18th and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1% at the 95% confidence interval.

In addition:

72 percent agree that legal immigrants who choose to make America their home should learn English, embrace American tradition and values, and become part of this country;
83 percent agree that anyone who commits or incites political violence should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law; and
64 percent agree that America’s constitutional system of free markets, individual rights, and representative government has produced more freedom and prosperity than any system in human history.
