Rising D4, applying to ortho this summer.

I'm really torn between two options:
(1) applying to a few non-match programs, then applying to match programs if I don't get into any non-match programs
(2) applying to match only

I’m looking for a general adult therapy postdoc hours

I’m thinking about contacting private practice to see if they may be interested in taking on a post doc, to my understanding that’s smth that is done is that correct?

If so any recommendation on what to say when contacting pp and process of how to go about this?

I am a NY resident from Manhattan. I could see myself living in NY forever, especially somewhere more chill like Brooklyn. I am quite mission driven and hope to work with a medically underserved population. I am thinking about OB-GYN (specifically reproductive endocrinology). Also considering gen surg and peds. Both have ~200 students which I like.
