While every position provides value to the formation and can influence the game, there is a certain magic about a player who can score a ton of goals. Many attackers will hit their ceiling in the youth ranks or college, but the ability to continue producing could lead all the way to the international level. With three finishes already in 2026, Sarah Weber has met last season’s total. The 23-year-old Racing Louisville forward has stuffed the stat sheet at every phase of her career and shows no signs of slowing down.

Raised in Gretna, Nebraska, Weber competed with Gretna High School and amassed 100 goals and 49 assists across three seasons, including 48 and 29 as a senior. She was named a two-time Nebraska Gatorade Player of the Year, a United Soccer Coaches All-American, and first-team all-state. Her club days were spent with OFC Premier, Sporting Nebraska, and Gretna Elite Academy as well as with various Olympic Development Program sides. TopDrawerSoccer graded her as a three-star prospect in the class of 2021, while coaches praised her “absolutely phenomenal drive, determination, and training habits.”

Receiving interest from Notre Dame, Stanford, Creighton, and Marquette, Weber then matriculated at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and broke out with six goals and two assists in 18 appearances, being named to the All-Big Ten Freshman Team. Her sophomore season saw her contribute 10 goals and five assists in 20 matches, which saw her listed as First-Team All-Big Ten. As a junior, she led the Cornhuskers to a regular-season conference title and the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament with 16 goals and six assists in 23 fixtures, being selected to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region First Team and First-Team All-Big Ten. Her collegiate career concluded with 11 goals and three assists in 17 games, picking up First-Team All-Big Ten for a third time as well as USC All-American Third Team.

Jumping into the professional ranks, Weber signed with Racing Louisville on a two-year contract. She featured in the season opener and quickly settled into a starting role while adapting to the team’s pressing system, bagging her first finish with a header to secure a 3-2 victory over the Utah Royals. “Growing into the number nine position,” her rookie campaign ended with three goals and one assist in 26 fixtures as her side reached the playoffs and fell in the quarterfinal round to the Washington Spirit in penalties.

In 2026, Weber opened the schedule with a finish in a 2-1 loss to the North Carolina Courage. Already, the forward has three goals and one assist in 11 matches, equaling her total from last season in a fraction of the time, despite missing several weeks with an ankle injury. The club signed her to a contract extension through 2028, describing her as a “constant professional who is extremely coachable” and “[bringing] such positive energy to the group both on and off the pitch.”

“[This year has been different by] understanding my role and how I fit in with the team, what’s expected of me, [and] what I can bring, but making sure I’m doing that,” Weber shared with local media. “I think this year has just allowed [me to] have a little more confidence in what’s going on around me. So I can just kind of relax a little bit and play my game, which is more fun. It’s exciting when you can just play like you want to play and not overthink everything … I think it’s a good level of [extra expectations]. I would want that because that means that people trust me to give those results.”

At the international level, Weber received her first call-up for the United States with the Under-23 team last year. She started and played 63 minutes in the 4-2 victory over England, relishing the opportunity to “learn a lot and bring it back [to her club].” Her most recent duty came in April, featuring in a 1-1 draw with the Netherlands and a 4-3 win against France, scoring in the latter fixture.

Standing at five feet, six inches tall, Weber is a midfielder and forward who is an accurate crosser and strong in the air, putting in work on both sides of the game with a dynamic style and ability to create for herself and her teammates. She works well with other players and has a strong sense of “pitch awareness” as well as a “relentlessness” to push ahead and pursue. Her favorite finishes come when “relying on her instincts” and “not overthinking anything,” reacting quickly and converting with minimal touches.

While currently competing for the USWNT at the Under-23 level, Weber should be in line for a chance at the senior level, likely to come after the 2027 World Cup and 2028 Olympic cycles. However, if her production continues at the current rate and even increases, then her introduction could come even sooner. Goals are always the priority, and the next potential contributor might be developing in Louisville.
