Somalia’s federal government is reportedly preparing to facilitate the return of about 1,900 Somali nationals from Germany in October, according to sources familiar with the proposed arrangement.

Four Somali government representatives are expected to travel to Germany on October 3 to discuss the planned operation and arrangements for the returns, the sources said.

Turkey has deported 50 Somali nationals to Mogadishu, including people who reportedly had medical appointments, students enrolled in education programmes, and individuals holding legal residency documents, according to information received by local media.

The group arrived on Tuesday through a separate section of Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu.
