289c cat skidsteer left track wont move.

I have a 289c caterpillar skid steer and the left side of the track will not move. I have changed the speed sensor and the wires from the track into the cab. I am new to this caterpillar Skid, steer repair world , i am not afraid to tackle anything mechanical, but is there anything I absolutely need to know before I start to remove the final drive?
