Bit of a spoiler, I’ll admit—but I still think about this movie’s twist. It’s such a bleak, sad movie, and really fits in with what I guess I’ll call “Lockdown movies” since they have that general world-ending, isolated feeling. You should watch it, but only if you’re willing to get very bummed out.

I’m reviewing The Running Man from an odd perspective, and it only feels fair to warn you of that if you’re going to read this review. Simply put, I’ve not read the book—I’m not even that familiar with Stephen King’s work, all told. Further, I’ve not even seen the previous adaptation. My experience with the death game genre comes from my deep love of The Hunger Games franchise.

I’m glad to have The Magnus Protocol back with “Legacy Issues.” Lord knows that was a long hiatus. But I’m also unhappy with “Legacy Issues” because, after so long a wait, why is this the episode that we get?
