I wanted a rooftop weather vane but didn't think the usual clipper ship or big sloop design was for me. My talented friend George made me this stainless steel version of the scale ILCA/Laser. It goes upwind very well.
Do the sunglasses improve your ability to see the current and or the puffs. A friend of mine who is mostly a lake sailor, told me it was a lot harder to see the puffs on the ocean, but he never wore sunglasses. would sunglasses help? I have never sailed on the ocean and would like to know!!
Folks, I am in the process of selling my Com-Pac Sun Cat and purchasing a used Capri 14.2. If I am NOT interested in racing, do I still need the Handbook? I.e., is it only racing rules and regulations, or is it a pretty handy owner's manual? Thanks in advance.
The marina manager here in Buffalo called me today to inform me that water was leaking from the keel bolts on my j-24 and recommended that He drop the keel and rebed the bolts and keel joint. There is no sign of a crack where the keel meets the hull so I am confused as to why it is leaking. Any advice would be appreciated.
is it normal to find very small cracks in the anti slip part of a laser deck,they are very small in length about 2mm and the thickness of a hair they seem to be in the white finish and hav'nt gone all the way through the deck, the boat ia 15 years old ?
