Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps DLP is being decommissioned December 31, 2026: Microsoft is consolidating Data Loss Prevention (DLP) capabilities from Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps (MDA) into Microsoft Purview. This will serve as the hub for unified data security across Microsoft 365. MDA DLP will be decommissioned on December 31, 2026. Stay tuned for information surrounding a Microsoft-issued migration strategy, a phased rollout schedule, and the assets to help the customer migration process. Microsoft Defender Threat Intelligence (MDTI) as a standalone product will be retired on August 1, 2026: Its capabilities will converge into Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Sentinel for a unified threat intelligence experience. Existing customers keep full access until retirement, but after that date, MDTI capabilities will require an active Defender or Sentinel license—so now is the time to help customers plan their transition.
