Passed away on May 20th, 2026, in Waterloo, Ontario, at the age of 81.

Beloved sister of Marilyn Emmerson (Don), Catherine Joyce (Gord), Barry Woods (Deanna), and Lloyd Woods (Lindsay). Loving aunt of Jeff, Michael, Danelle, Angela, Eric, Jo-Ann, Pam, and Scott. Predeceased by her parents, Harry and Mary Woods; her brother, Charles Woods; and nephews Brad Mason and Ryan Woods.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dianne Pope, a deeply loved daughter, wife, sister, aunt, and friend whose strength, honesty, and loyalty shaped the lives of those around her.

Dianne was born in 1944 in Fergus, Ontario, on the same summer's day as her brother Charles. As the eldest of six children growing up on a family farm, she naturally stepped into a caring role, helping raise her younger siblings while sharing in the everyday work of farm life. Those early years helped shape the practical, capable, and compassionate woman her family would always rely on.

From a tiny one-room schoolhouse to graduating from Hamilton General Hospital as a Registered Nurse, Dianne's life was rooted in helping others. Nursing suited her perfectly. She didn't suffer fools lightly, but when someone genuinely needed help, she was there without hesitation - steady, capable, and reassuring. People trusted her because she was direct, honest, and deeply caring.

Never one to stop learning, Dianne later earned her MBA at the University of Toronto and built a varied career that reflected both her intelligence and independence. She worked at Abitibi and later ran her own Future Kids computer business, embracing new challenges with confidence. Whether caring for patients, helping customers, or supporting family, she brought the same practicality, determination, and quiet compassion to everything she did.

Dianne made her home in Toronto, Port Dover, and most recently, Waterloo, but wherever she lived, she stayed closely connected to the people she loved. She was fiercely loyal, dependable, and always willing to step in when someone needed support. She had a sharp wit, a strong sense of right and wrong, and a refreshing directness. If you were in her circle, you knew she would tell you the truth - and stand beside you when it mattered most.

Dianne was predeceased by her husband, Robert Pope, whose partnership meant so much to her. She carried his memory with her and remained devoted to family and friends throughout her life.

Outside of work, Dianne embraced life with curiosity and a sense of adventure. She loved to travel and was always willing to try something new - riding a camel in Egypt, an elephant in Africa, and even an alpine coaster (toboggan) in the Pyrenees with her grandnephew Ryland. These adventures reflected her quiet courage and willingness to experience the world.

She also cherished life's simpler pleasures. Walks with friends, good conversation, and shared laughter meant a great deal to her. She became a devoted fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, faithfully watching games and offering her own candid and often humorous commentary. Those who watched with her knew she followed every play closely.

Dogs held a special place in Dianne's heart. Over the years she cared for many, but her favourite was Molly, whose loss last year was deeply felt. Molly brought her daily companionship and joy, and Dianne spoke of her often and with great affection.

Dianne will be remembered for her independence, her honesty, her quiet generosity, and her unwavering presence in the lives of those she loved. She was someone who showed up - in difficult moments, in ordinary moments, and whenever help was needed. Her family and friends will remember her warmth, her strength, her sense of humour, and the comfort of knowing she was always there.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
