The familiar whirlwind of morning: backpacks stuffed, breakfast sizzling, kids hustled to school, errands lined up, the business day looming, and chores that never seem to end.
Day after day, the same rhythm plays on. Parenting never pauses. To-do lists torn and tossed, scraps and messes waiting, birthdays to organise, events filling the calendar.
And then...
‘I just want to know what the wooden chips in the bowl were. I have seen you eat those,’ he said.
