Pigeon Forge has various lodging options; whether you're looking for budget-friendly or high-end luxury, Riverstone Resort and Spa has you covered.

When choosing a place to stay for my family, I'm looking for a condo or cabin with several rooms since I travel with my older teen girls. We all like to have our own space without feeling like we are cramped together. Also, get that home away from home feel.

I was traveling for work and also needed desk space for my laptop.

We have stayed in several hotels, condos, and even a cabin in Pigeon Forge. We recently returned to Riverstone Resort and Spa since we loved everything about this beautiful resort.

When booking our condo at Riverstone, I went directly to their website instead of Priceline since I saved more money that way. With Priceline added-on fees, I would've paid over $400 more! Usually, I would save money using Priceline, but not this time.

During our last stay back in 2021, Riverstone started its multi-million dollar renovations, so we stayed in one of their older condo suites. Even though it was an older design, it was still very nice with a darker rustic feel. Even if Riverstone kept the same decor, it would still look luxurious.

Riverstone has a more modern look with a light rustic touch with the new renovations. The condos have brand-new cozy furnishings, appliances, Smart TVs, and more. Even the exterior buildings have a new, softer shade.

With the recent renovations, the condo smelled fresh, brand new, clean, and airy, making our stay relaxing and welcoming. So it was easy to kick back and settle down after a busy day exploring the Smoky Mountains.

Riverstone offers 1-4 bedroom condos with fully stocked modern kitchens, living rooms with gas fireplaces, flat-screen TVs in each room, spacious bathrooms, free WiFi, and balconies with views of either the golf course or river.

When it comes to Riverstone's amenities, they offer an indoor pool, an outdoor lazy river with waterfalls, and a riverfront picnic and BBQ area. Also, they provide full spa service if you want to be pampered.

During our last stay, we stayed in the two-bedroom condo with one of my daughters sleeping on the sofabed in the living room; this trip, I booked a three-bedroom, so everyone has their own room.

I had a choice of booking a 3 bedroom with one of the guest bedrooms having double beds or both guest rooms having king beds; I chose every room with a king-size bed.

Again, just like the last trip, we were placed in the 2nd building across from the clubhouse (the clubhouse has a 24-hour indoor pool, fitness center, and game room). However, we were on the top 6th floor this time, so we had vaulted ceilings that gave the condo more height and a bigger feel.

But since this particular suite was not pet-friendly, we did not have a front door patio.

If you saw my previous review of Riverstone Resort, you saw that we brought our guinea pigs. Unfortunately, our guinea pigs didn't come with us during this trip; however, Riverstone only allows dogs; they gave us a pass last time since they are caged. But still, give Riverstone a call if you have a pet other than a dog; they may provide you an exception. There is a $25 fee a day for pets.

BIG things are happening at Dollywood, shaping to be one of the busiest seasons yet!

First, two impressive projects- the Big Bear Mountain roller coaster and Dollywood's HeartSong Lodge & Resort—are scheduled for completion this year. Bookings for HeartSong Lodge & Resort start in June, with stays beginning in November.

How to Start a Product Review Blog in 2023: Step By Step Guide

I receive a lot of emails from my followers asking me how to start a product review blog, how to get products to test for their new blog, and how to monetize a new blog. Therefore, I decided to create a blog post that covers everything for you guys to reference.

Blogging is a wonderful way to share your thoughts and opinions about products and services that you come across, which is why I created Productreviewmom.com. I love sharing about the brands I love, discover, and try out for the first time with you guys so you can check them out and add them to your daily life. I’ve been able to review brand new cars that are dropped off to my front door, test out the latest beauty products, get sponsored hotels stays, meals, and more!

Thanks to blogging, I was able to quit my job, become a full-time blogger, AND spend more quality time with my family. Plus, the money I earned from my blog allowed me to save and purchase my first house!

The good news is it’s not hard to get a product review blog up and running. Below you’ll find an easy step by step tutorial guide that will allow you to get started sharing your honest feedback of items that you’ve tried and tested on your new up and running blog.

#1 Select a Domain Name

The hardest step of getting your product review blog up and running is going to be picking your domain name. This is also one of the most important steps because once you make the decision of your domain name you’re going to be stuck with it for the most part.

I recommend doing some extensive research and narrowing down to a list of 5 potential domain names that you absolutely love. Once you have narrowed down your search to 5 domain names you’ll want to go through the process of elimination by keeping the following things in mind:

Check to make sure that your domain name is not in use.

Make sure that the potential domain name is unique and not a similar name as another person’s review blog.

Make sure it fits what you plan to discuss on your blog.

Make sure there are no hyphens in the domain.

Make sure the domain is easy to remember.

Make sure that it doesn’t have alternative meanings.

Make sure there are no trademarked words in it.

Avoid using numbers.

Make sure a .com version is available.

Once you have narrowed down your domain name, then it’s time to move on to registering your domain so someone else can’t start a website using it. The easiest way to register your domain is going to be to do it via your web host as many of them offer deals when you register a domain and use their hosting services. We’ll discuss the registration process a bit more in the next two steps.

#2 Select a Web Host

Selecting a web host is also something that’s going to take a bit of research on your end.

I recommend looking at reviews that others have left about each of the web hosts that you are considering so you can decide which host will be the best for your needs.

The main things to keep in mind when researching web hosts are:

Make sure it’s a reputable company.

Make sure they have 99% or higher uptime.

DONT make your decision based on who offers the cheapest rate.

Make sure customer support can easily be contacted.

Make sure they are easy for beginners to use.

These things are important because as your site grows, your audience is going to be coming to your website for your expertise. The last thing you want to happen is them trying to access your site only to find that it’s always offline and then heading over to your competitors.

Your web host is your blogs home. It is what allows you to control how accessible your website is and when it can’t be accessed you need to have peace of mind that they will get it back up quickly.

#3 Setting Up Your Web Host Account

Once you’ve selected your web host, the next step is to set up your web host account.

Most web hosts will begin by asking you if you want to purchase a domain or register one. Here you should be able to go ahead and purchase the domain name that you decided on earlier in the tutorial.

Once you’ve purchased your domain, the next step is going to be to select your hosting package. Since you’re just setting up a blog and have to grow your audience you don’t need to start off with a dedicated server package or the most expensive shared hosting package if it’s out of your budget. It’s perfectly okay to sign up for one of the cheaper packages and upgrade as your blog traffic grows.

When you’ve decided on your hosting package, you’ll have to enter your contact info and go through some additional options. There will be many options for add-ons and what not, however, I recommend the following selections for new bloggers:

SSL: This lets readers know your website is safe to visit.

Domain WhoIS Privacy: This keeps your contact information private to the public.

Monthly payments: This may be a little more expensive than paying annually, however, if you’re not sure that being a product review blogger is for you its best to start off with monthly payments.

When you’ve finished paying and checking out, you’re almost ready for the fun part – creating your new product review blog!

#4 Select Your Blog Platform

Selecting a blog platform allows you to move on to designing and creating content for your blog. There are quite a few options available from WordPress to Blogger to Squarespace and more. However, during your research, you’ve probably realized that WordPress is one of the most popular among bloggers for the plugins, therefore, for the purpose of this tutorial we will be selecting the WordPress platform.

#5 Install WordPress

When you log into your web hosting account there should be a control panel section (or similarly named section) where you’ll be able to install WordPress. Once you locate the “Install WordPress” option you’ll go ahead and install it and go through the steps. It’ll ask you for your domain name, domain URL, and it’ll have you create a username and password.

When creating your username and password keep the following things in mind:

Avoid usernames such as admin.

Make your password very tough to guess. Ideally, it should be a combination of numbers, letters (upper and lower), and special characters.

Keep in mind, this username and password is the gatekeeper to your site. The last thing you want is someone to be able to hack into your site and mess with your hard work. Your product review blog is not only going to be a place for you to share your honest opinions, but its also going to be a business that makes you money.

#6 Design Your Product Review Blog

Now all of the hard work is out of the way so you’re ready to move on to the fun stuff. The first step is going to be to design your product review blog.

When it comes to designing your product review blog, the first thing you’re going to want to do is to select a theme. Theme wise you’ll have free and paid options to choose from. Since you’re a new blogger you don’t have to start out hiring a professional website designer on day one. However, it is recommended that you do go with a paid theme (if you can afford it) so your website stands out from other bloggers and gives off a professional feel to help jump-start your income opportunities.

The most important thing to keep in mind when selecting a theme is you want to go with a responsive theme that fits your personality while still giving off a professional appearance. Additionally, you’ll want to make sure that the theme doesn’t have a ton of add-ons so you can use plugins without slowing down your site and losing different functions when you decide to change themes.

If a free theme option is where you want to start you can find free themes in your WordPress admin portal by going to Appearance > Themes > Add New.

Alternatively, if this entire theme selection talk is making your head spin, don’t feel alone. In this case, if your budget allows it you may just want to hire a website designer who can create a customized theme for you and get everything designed to your specifications.

#7 Make Sure Your Blog is Secure

While it is true that your username and password will keep most people from accessing your site, another thing you must factor in is hackers. Hackers skills have advanced over the years and the last thing you want is for a hacker to be able to gain access to the backend of your website and cause chaos. Therefore, security is something that you should install from the beginning of your product review blogging journey.

Ways to make sure your website is secure include:

Not using admin as your username.

Creating a strong password.

Always making sure you have the latest version of WordPress and any plugins you download installed.

Downloading a backup of your site to your computer once a week.

Delete unused plugins.

Download security plugins.

When it comes to security plugins that you can download, you’ll have quite a few options. However, the ones that I recommend are:

Wordfence Security: Keep in mind they do have a paid version of this plugin, however, most folks find that the free version works just fine.

Sucuri Security: As with Wordfence Security there are free and paid versions available. However, you should be fine with the free version.

Google Authenticator: Two-factor authentication makes it super tough for people to get into your site. Therefore, this is quickly becoming a favorite security plugin among bloggers.

#8 Start Creating Content

Once you’ve gotten all of the technical details out of the way, it’s time to move on to creating content.

The WordPress platform is super easy to use, which is why I based the tutorial off of them. When in your admin panel you just click Post > Add New and let your words come to life.

However, before getting started on your first blog post I recommend that you go ahead and create the following pages, especially if your goal is to monetize your blog in the future:

Since you’re a new product review blogger my recommendation would be to publish a post every day or every two days so you can start attracting people to your site. When they see that you update your site regularly they’ll be more likely to subscribe and actually look forward to your blog posts.

However, when keeping in mind my recommendation of daily, or close to daily publishing, remember that you only should blog when you have something to say. Don’t feel as though you have to force yourself to write something every day for the sake of having a new post as it will definitely show in your writing.

Lastly, when writing your content make sure that you’re including photos in each post and incorporating SEO. There are a ton of guides on creating SEO friendly blog posts, so if you’re unfamiliar with SEO I would recommend giving some of them a read through.

Final Thoughts – It’s Easier Than You Think to Start a Product Review Blog in 2023

While this may seem like a ton of information to digest to be prepared to start a blog, it’s really not that hard. The hardest part will be settling on your domain name, I promise. Once you have your domain name purchased and install WordPress you’ll find it to be smooth sailing from there.

This tutorial has covered all of the technical aspects of setting up your product review blog in 2020. Now, you just have to focus on creating quality content and building up your audience. Once you have a good content buildup and some loyal readers, you’re then able to start making money from your product review blog.

Monetizing your blog will require more work on your end as you want to keep your audience happy without coming off as always trying to sell them something while also giving your clients a good return on their investment. Once you get to this point just make sure that you have Google Analytics installed on your blog so you can see which posts are performing well with your readers so you can know which advertising opportunities are a fit and which ones are not.

Blogging can be like having a full-time job if you’re in it to make it into your business. The good news is there are some tools that you can use to help you save time. My top recommendations are:

When you fill out their screener survey, they'll let you know at the end if you're eligible or not. For example, let say the brand is looking for people to test out their new makeup, if you don't use cosmetic products then you won't qualify. If you do, then you'll be eligible for the product testing job.

Once you get the approval to test the product, the brand will ask for your address to send you the product to evaluate for a week or two. Then, they'll follow up with you with an email asking for feedback about the product you've tested. When you're done, you get paid! WOO HOO! Simple right?

How Much Can You Make Being a Product Tester?

What's great is that you can test products and keep them too! So, test products, keep it, and get paid! A win-win!! You'll feel good that you had a voice and played a part in the latest product creation. However, there are times when the brand would like the product returned to make expectations, like the wear and tear. But even if you have to give the product back, you'll still get paid for your time.

How much you get paid varies. I've been paid anywhere from $3-$500, it depends how in-depth the testing process is. There was a time I tested a website in beta format for HBO (now called HBOMAX), and they paid me $100 for doing it! All I had to do is test out their website for a couple of weeks, watch movies, then give my feedback. Easy money!

Steps on Becoming a Successful Product Tester

1. Create an email dedicated to your product testing invitations, so you'll not miss an opportunity to test products from leading brands. I like to use Gmail for my emails. Also, when you sign up for a market research panel, make sure you confirm your membership.

2. Complete product testing surveys as soon as possible before invite fills up and no longer needs new people for their product testing assignment.

3. Always tell the truth! Brands need truthful people to evaluate their products. If you lie, companies will not know if they need to make any improvements to their products. Also, you can get yourself removed from their program, and not get paid.

4. Do not speed through a survey that the brands send you. Product testing Panels could not use your survey if they noticed that you rushed through it. Your inquiry will look like your answers are untruthful and cannot be used which will lead you to get removed from program and money you earned is forfeited.

5. Sign up for more than one product testing program. The more product testing websites you sign up for, the more chances of being invited to join current product testing campaigns.

6. Always fill out your demographic information with each product testing website you're signed up with. This helps market research firms know which product testing surveys are better suited for you, and more than likely you'll qualify for.

7. Never expose information about new products you've seen on a survey to anyone. That can lead you getting kicked out the program and forfeiting your payment.

It all started back in 2015, when I first heard about Pigeon Forgeand how it's the top travel destination for families looking for fun, adventure, or an escape.

The drive for us to the mountains is only 3 1/2 hours, so we made the trip and been hooked on the gorgeous, peaceful, Smoky Mountains ever since! My family and I have unforgettable memories and bonding moments that we always cherish.

The primary location in the Smoky Mountains my family and I visit regularly is Pigeon Forge. Pigeon Forge has so much to offer for everyone, like delicious southern-style restaurants, arcades and race tracks, high-rated theme park, outdoor adventures, top dinner shows, and family-friendly lodging, plus so much more!

Below, I want to share the top attractions, dining, and lodging that my family and I enjoy visiting.

Top Attractions in Pigeon Forge

Dollywood: Did you know that Dolly Parton has a theme park? Nestled in the heart of the Great Smokies lies the top theme park, Dollywood. Dollywood is known for its exciting festivals, thrill rides, award-winning restaurants, a variety of different shops, museums, and top-rated shows. There is something for everyone at Dollywood, no matter the age. Dollywood theme-park is like no other; you'll always have a fun experience every time you visit. I highly recommend getting either a multi-day pass or season pass because there is no way you'll be able to do everything in one day.

Dollywood Splash Country: Not only does Dolly Parton have a theme park, but she also has a waterpark as well! It is The Smokies #1 place for summer fun! Splash Country is a great place to chill out for the summer while enjoying all the thrilling water rides, lounging pools, and enjoying poolside treats.

Dolly Parton's Stampede Dinner Attraction: In Pigeon Forge, there are a lot of dinner shows to choose from, but the top must-visit show is Dolly Parton's Stampede. It's more than just the dinner show itself, the attraction starts the minute you arrive, so it's recommended to come at least an hour early. Also, early reservations are recommended as well since the dinner show is always sold out. Great food, amazing performances, you will be in for a hootin', tootin', good time!

Alcatraz East Crime Museum: Do you love digging deep into criminal artifacts? Well, you will love Alcatraz East Crime Museum! My family and I like to visit The Island every time we visit Pigeon Forge, particularly for the candy shops, Paula Deen's Restaurant, and even Parrot Mountain's store where you can also see parrots inside.

Wonderworks Pigeon Forge: When it comes to all of my vacations, I like for my daughters to have an educational experience as well. Wonderworks was the first museum we ever visited when visiting Pigeon Forge. Combined with education and entertainment, this museum has more than 100 hands-on exhibits that challenge the mind and spark the imagination.

Pirates Voyage Dinner and Show: Pirates Voyage is located in the heart of The Island in Pigeon Forge. The dinner show takes you on an electrifying adventure with sword fights, cannons, and pirates scaling high above two pirate ships fighting to win Davy Jones’ coveted sunken treasure. A rowdy crew of characters combines heroics and high-flying fun that will have guests cheering and experiencing thrills around every corner in an epic battle for lost treasure on land, on deck, and in the water of the show’s 15-foot-deep indoor lagoon.

Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Show: Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Show serve a homestyle, all-you-can-eat feast while putting on a hilarious singing and dancing comedy show. Shopping: Shopping in the Pigeon Forge is an attraction in itself! So many unique boutique shops to choose from, and outlet malls with premium stores, you're sure to walk away with awesome gifts. And what's great about Pigeon Forge, all the cool Christmas shops that are open year around.

There are hundreds of other attractions along the strip in Pigeon Forge, and still this day I haven't visited them all! It's like a massive playground for families, and that's why each trip is always something different for us to explore.

Top Restaurants in Pigeon Forge

Paula Deen's Restaurant: I enjoy having a Sunday Dinner style entrees with food that just keeps on coming! This southern diner serves fried chicken, meatloaf, pot roast, chicken and dumpling and more for their family-style dinner. Paula Deen also serves up breakfast and lunch as well.

Mama's Farmhouse: Another tasty family southern-style cuisine you must visit is Mama's Farmhouse! You get to choose up to 8 food dishes, and the food keeps on coming! You'll find yourself rolling out of the restaurant because you will be so full and satisfied. They serve all three meals a day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Sawyer's Farmhouse Breakfast Restaurant: Sawyer's serves a variety of breakfast foods including crepes, Belgium waffles, made from scratch pancakes. For lunch, they offer a selection of burgers, sandwiches, and salads. This restaurant is a must visit!

Dollywood: Did you know that Dollywood has an actual sit-down, full-service restaurants inside the amusement park? My favorite is Aunt Granny's Restaurant. Aunt Granny’s has you covered with one of the biggest all-you-care-to-eat buffets with foods that are good for any taste buds. The wait for Aunt Granny's is long but well worth it! There are several other restaurants inside the park that are worth a visit too.

Local Goat: Whenever you visit Pigeon Forge, you must visit the Local Goat restaurant. It's a huge fan favorite among travelers. Local Goat is an American casual restaurant with modern dishes featuring a scratch-made kitchen specializing in locally-sourced and sustainable menu items. Plus, craft draft beer.

Five Oaks Farm Kitchen: Five Oaks Farm Kitchen is located next door to Pigeon Forge in Sevierville. This farm-to-table restaurant serves delicious BBQ and classic American Southern fare in a rustic farmhouse space. And behind the restaurant is Cruze Farm Ice Cream Shop with fresh churned soft serve ice cream made with milk from their local dairy farm. I always go to Five Oaks Farm Kitchen for either breakfast or lunch and get a sweet treat at Cruze Farm Ice Cream Shop.

Frizzle Kitchen Farmhouse Cafe: Frizzle Kitchen is a charming bright red barn-looking restaurant. This family-oriented eaterie has over 100+ singing animatronic chickens and serves hearty American dishes like yummy signature breakfasts and tasty lunches. Top Hotels in Pigeon Forge

Dollywood's DreamMore Resort and Spa: DreamMore is such a ravishing resort with Dolly Parton's special touches. Dolly thought of every inch and detail when it comes to her resort from the rooms, the lobby, the grounds, everything is strikingly beautiful. It's a family getaway you'll never forget, and you'll be wanting to visit there time and time again! Tru by Hilton: If you're looking for a family-friendly, budget-friendly hotel, Tru by Hilton is a great place to stay. Arbors at Island Landing: This budget-friendly hotel is located right in the middle of everything! You can easily park your car and walk to all the attractions and eateries. Arbors at Island Landing is a family-owned hotel that offers roomy suites, free weekend sing-alongs around a bonfire while roasting smores, year around swimming pool, and fishing. Golf View Vacation Rentals: If you need a lot of space, Golf View Vacation Rentals is for you! They provide two and three bedroom condos complete with a full kitchen, and living room with a fireplace. Golf View is situated between Dollywood and the Gatlinburg Country Club and Golf Course, and you can enjoy hot tubs, jacuzzis, indoor and outdoor pools along with grills and a picnic area at the resort. Leave your car behind, and you can walk to most nearby attractions or hop on the trolley. The hotel is clean and modern, with a restaurant and outdoor lounge area. As you can see, Pigeon Forge is the best family getaway, and I only provided not even a fraction of attractions, dining, and lodging. There are so many places to explore in Pigeon Forge; there will never be a dull moment on your trip.

Toyota took me on tour recently, highlighting several important historical and cultural landmarks throughout Atlanta. It was great to steep into the history of influential black leaders.

To soak up more of this inspiring city, Toyota dropped off the 2023 Sienna XSE for me to enjoy during Black History Month. In addition, I stopped by several of my favorite black-owned spots that you should visit here in the Metro Atlanta area.

This 7-passenger van is a showstopper! When it pulled up in my driveway, I knew I was in for a fun week! I drove a Toyota Sienna in 2020 and loved it, and it was a pleasure to cruise around town in the latest model.

What's different with the 2023 model is the sharper and edgier styling. And it feels and looks more prominent as well.

The Sienna is a legendary minivan. It's been the go-to van for drivers for the past 25 years! History-making, just like Atlanta.

And with it being a hybrid, I spent less time at the pumps and more time going places.

The price for this beauty is $47K. And I highly recommend this van! Besides being the perfect van for families, the only downside was the pull-down roof TV blocking my rearview. Toyota should place it behind the armrest.

As you know, I love eating snacks, especially ones from different countries. It's a great way to discover treats from overseas.

Yes, it's exciting to travel to these countries to try all their variety of foods, but it's even more fun having these tasty foreign snacks shipped to your home.

Civil Rights Tour Atlanta Review

Take a look at where Toyota brought me to celebrate Black History Month; places in Atlanta where history was made by those who made history!

I went on a three-hour bus tour around Atlanta, visiting famous landmarks, businesses, and people who made Atlanta the hub of the Civil Rights movement. After the tour concluded, our group had dinner at Paschal's Restaurant. (Eating at the restaurant is not part of the Civil Rights Tour)

It was a pleasure meeting our tour guide Tom Houck, the aide to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He served as his driver and personal assistant. It's exciting that tour guests get first-hand knowledge about the movement from someone who was there during that time.

The tour starts at the graves of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Coretta Scott King. Then guests ride comfortably in a video-equipped bus touring locations that include:

After the tour, you leave with a wealth of knowledge, with Tom sharing personal insights into what he has been through during that time. There were so many things I didn't even know. It was a fun, engaging, educational experience immersing myself in historic Black history. And Tom sneaks in some humor that will have you chuckling.

Plus, we sang freedom songs between stops with the Freedom singer Eartha Sims. Besides being the Freedom singer on Civil Rights Tours Atlanta, Eartha sings in the choir at Ebenezer Baptist Church. She also stars on Sundays at the historic Pal's Lounge on Auburn, singing R&B and Jazz tunes.

Next time you're in Atlanta, book your next Civil Rights Tour.

And if you go, make sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes since you hop on and off the bus at different locations. Also, the bus does not have a restroom, so use the bathroom at The King Center before getting on the bus.

Dance-Based Fitness Studio: AKT Inman Park Review

My health and wellness journey has still been going strong! I'm still hitting the gym a few times a week and completely changed my diet.

When it comes to going to the gym, it can start feeling repetitive after a while from doing the same workouts. By doing the same thing for an extended amount of time, your body will begin to plateau, meaning you start to burn fewer calories and build less muscle causing your weight loss to slow down.

Even though I enjoy going to the gym, I started noticing that I wasn't losing as much weight as I was when I began my health and wellness journey a couple of years back. So, it was time to incorporate a new exercise routine.

So, instead of doing my usual gym workout, I went to my first dance-inspired fitness studio at AKT, located in Inman Park in Atlanta.

AKT is a functional approach to fitness combining dance with cardio, strength, tone, and circuit training. The vibrant and fun atmosphere had me feeling like I had entered a dance hall with upbeat music and disco lighting.

My daughters tagged along with me to experience AKT's cardio/dance class since they sometimes go to the gym with me.

AKT is right on the beltline, with several restaurants, shops, apartments, condos, and two major food halls. So, after class, we could walk the beltline trail and stop for a quick bite to eat at Krog Street Market.

And for those visiting AKT for the first time, there is street parking and paid parking at the SPX Alley parking garage.

GPS, for some reason, has AKT's location going to someone's apartment in the brick buildings nearby; however, AKT is located behind the beige townhomes.

So if you park in the parking garage, you walk down the steps on the left side of the townhomes, and AKT will be found right in front of the beltline and brewery.

For first-timers, the first class is combined with four signature classes: DANCE, BANDS, TONE, and CIRCUIT, so you get a feel for what AKT is all about.

AKT instructors are trained dancers, ballerinas, and even stunt actors. So, you are taught by a highly trained professional.

When it is your first time visiting AKT, you must arrive 15 minutes early to set up your account with a staff member.

I was late due to not finding AKT, but my daughters and I were still able to join the class during our late arrival.

The class is 45 minutes. It's fun yet intense.

With me regularly going to the gym and the AKT fitness class being introductory, I thought it would be a breeze. But, boy, was I wrong! It took a lot of work to catch on. But from my understanding, it takes 3 to 4 classes to get the hang of it.

The fitness instructor was great; she had the class movin' and grovin'! And if she sees someone needing help, she'll happily show how to make a dance/cardio move correctly.

And even though the class is fast-moving, there are several breaks, and you can go at your own pace.

Also, equipment is provided and lockers. So, all you need to bring is water.

And remember I spoke about body plateau due to doing the same workouts repeatedly? At AKT, workouts change every three weeks allowing you to improve and be challenged while removing the feelings of boredom and burnout.

Make Some Homemade Crepes for Valentine's Day

Welcome to another edition of Cooking with the Girls at Williams-Sonoma. Each month, Williams-Sonoma offers cooking classes for adults, and classes for kids several times a year. These classes are hands-on, fun, and you walk away with a gift to cook the recipe you made at home. You don't have to have cooking skills of any kind; the chef will go over step by step on how to create the inspired meal of the day.

With Valentine's Day is here, what better way then to make your husband, kids, friends, or whoever, some delicious homemade crepes.

Yes, I know Valentine's Day is on a weekday, and you may not have time to cook it in the morning due to work. But you can whip up a batch of these fancy French pancakes in the evening as well using ingredients like shrimps, veggies, or just have breakfast for dinner made with fruit fillings. Crepes can be made in so many ways to your liking.

Here's what you need to make Basic Crepes:

1 Cup of Milk

1 Egg

1/2 Cup plus 1 Tbs. off All-Purpose Flour

1/2 Tbs. Unsalted Butter, melted, plus 8 Tsp. Butter

1/2 Tsp. Salt

Blender

Crepe Pan

In a blender, combine the milk, egg, flour, the 1/2 Tbs. melted butter and salt and blend until smooth. Refrigerate for 2 to 8 hours.

In a crepe pan over medium heat, melt 1 tsp. of the butter to coat the pan evenly. Lift the pan at a slight angle and pour 2 Tbs. of the batter into the center, tilting the pan to spread the batter to the edges. Return the pan to the heat and cook until the crepe is golden underneath, 1 to 2 minutes. Flip the crepe over and cook for 1 to 2 minutes. Transfer to a plate and cover. Repeat to make 8 crepes.

The girls had a lot of fun whipping up crepes with their chef and classmates. At first, it was hard for them to flip over their crepes without them breaking apart in the pan. It takes a bit of practice, but they got the hang of it after the second go around.

Remember, these crepes can be used with a variety of sweet or savory fillings. The girls added strawberry filling with whip cream and powder sugar on theirs. The skies the limit when it comes to making crepes, you can fill them up with anything.
