This October, a group of 16 of us will be taking on a challenge with a difference!

Yes, of course we’re raising vital funds for Prevent Breast Cancer, and that goes without saying. But the driving force behind this journey is something much more personal.

This is a story about friendship, family and a man who gave so much of himself to others.

October brings together two important commemorations: Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Black History Month. Their overlap provides a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the inequitable impact of breast cancer on ethnically diverse women. At the same time, it is imperative that honouring Black heritage and addressing inequities remain ongoing commitments.
