The "Shadow and Bone" universe is lush with magic, from bursts of light that shoot out of characters' hands to ancient swords that can cut through seemingly indestructible shadows. In the world of "Shadow and Bone," though, these powers aren't actually called magic - they're instead referred to as the "small science," or the art of manipulating matter, and the characters who practice it are called Grisha.

There are three main categories of Grisha - the Corporalki, Etherealki, and Materialki - and each is broken down into subsets, such as Inferni, who can manipulate fire; Heartrenders, who can control people's internal organs and can also detect when people are telling the truth; and Durasts, who can bend and move metals with their minds. But in the real world, the "Shadow and Bone" cast have differing opinions on which powers are most covetable.

For Patrick Gibson, who stars as Sturmhond in the show's second season, being a Durast sounds most appealing. "You can make stuff," he tells POPSUGAR. "It's like being a 3D printer." ("Nothing sexier than a 3D printer," quips Anna Leong Brophy, who plays Tamar Kir-Bataar, a member of Sturmhond's crew.)

Meanwhile, Lewis Tan - another season two newcomer who plays Tolya Yul-Bataar, Tamar's brother and fellow crew member - would stick with the same enhanced abilities he has onscreen. "I quite like the Heartrendering," he says. "I think that's interesting. I think I like the idea of being able to suss people out, you know? I think I'd stick with the one that I have."

Tan isn't the only cast member who'd like to use an aspect of his character in real life. Jessie Mei Li, who stars as the ultra-powerful, ultra-rare sun summoner Alina, would love it if she could absorb some of her character's spunk. "I think I'd like to be a bit feistier," she says when asked if there's any part of her character she wishes she had offscreen. "I'm quite gentle-natured, and I feel like Alina can be a bit spiky," she laughs. "I'd quite like to bit spicier. Maybe people wouldn't mess with me."

It's a bit trickier for Ben Barnes, who plays the shadow-summoning General Kirigan - a "psychotic villain," he readily admits. Still, he says, he wouldn't mind having some of Kirigan's "calm authority when public speaking."

While unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on who you play) it's difficult for actors to absorb their characters' qualities into their real lives, some aspects of the "Shadow and Bone" universe seem to have found their way into the cast's lives. In particular, some of the cast members say that they've found a little bit of the show's magic slipping into their realities - if it wasn't already there before.

"Just before the show started shooting, I was trying to get in touch with Tamar's magical ability. She has absolute faith in her ability," Leong Brophy explains. "I remember pulling a tarot card and being like, this is gonna tell me something about this ability. And it was the magician. And as I pulled it, like this little ray of sunlight just came through the window and I was like, 'Oh my God, I'm magic.' That felt pretty magical. It felt like a good omen, definitely."

Meanwhile, Danielle Galligan, who plays Heartrender Nina, also says she feels connected to the unseen world. "I do have a little thing with my granddad who's passed away," she says. "He used to give me little coins, like pocket money. Every time I see a little coin, I think that it's like my granddad giving me a little, 'You got this kid.' It always happens [during] very interesting or difficult times. If I'm nervous about something, there's a little penny always lying around, and I'm like, 'Oh, perfect.' I was having a really bad day in the gym a while ago, and there were two pennies under the leg press machine that he left me. So that's my witchy thing, with my granddad. That's my magic."

Calahan Skogman, who plays Nina's lover Matthias, can also attest to magic being all around - though only if you're willing to see it. "I think there's plenty of magic all around if you're looking for it," he says. "There's so many signs, if you're open to them . . . Relating to the show, the whole experience of me landing the part, and me and Danielle, and the whole crazy journey of that and how fast it moved was straight out of a storybook, and certainly was quite magical."

And the magic - or the synchronicity, or whatever you want to label those moments that seem to hint at some sort of greater plan or structure to the universe - has continued on, long past the filming process. "Even yesterday when I was walking to meet up with Danielle, I was trying to give her some directions and everything," he says. "I was like, take a left, but she should have taken a right . . . Anyways, I finally see her across this walkway, and I just look up and above her head and there's this giant 'Shadow and Bone' billboard," he laughs. "I just point up to it, and she looks up and sees it. To me those are little moments of magic, because what are the chances of that?"

Like many of the characters on "Shadow and Bone," Galligan and Skogman's characters share a powerful bond they both fight for, no matter the cost. Romance and connection is at the heart of the show, from Mal (Archie Renaux) and Alina's powerful bond to Kaz (Freddy Carter) and Inej (Amita Suman)'s fragile trust for one another. Love arguably happens to be one of the most magical, transcendent experiences accessible to inhabitants of our world - and the characters of "Shadow and Bone" certainly share deep, globe-spanning connections to one another, though they're not without their complications. The cast also seems to have a lot of affection for one another, which is perhaps one source of the magic that shimmers throughout the show and sometimes finds its way into their offscreen lives.

"I'm trying to think of the things we did to amuse ourselves when we were sitting in a tent freezing cold," Brophy laughs when asked about her favorite on-set memories. "There's quite a bit of memories of us freezing cold on that boat, just trying to huddle together," Tan adds. "There's a lot of stories."

Mindy Kaling was among the guests of honor at the White House on March 21. During a special ceremony, President Joe Biden presented Kaling with the National Medal of Arts, an accolade bestowed upon individuals or groups who have demonstrated "outstanding contributions to the excellence, growth, support and availability of the arts in the United States," according to the National Endowment For the Arts. The actor and television producer was in great company, with Gladys Knight, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Bruce Springsteen also in attendance.

"A little while ago, I got a call from Dr. Maria Rosario Jackson that the National Endowment of the Arts and the office of the President wanted to give me the National Medal of Arts for my work in television and as an author," Kaling recalled in an Instagram post following the event. "I'm still processing how to receive the news. Yesterday, I went with my family to receive the medal at the White House." For the ceremony, Kaling was joined by her 5-year-old daughter, Katherine, and longtime friend B.J. Novak, who recently presented her with the prestigious Norman Lear Award at the Producers Guild of America Awards in February.

The ceremony, also attended by First Lady Jill Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, was originally slated to take place two years earlier but was delayed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to Kaling, Knight, Louis-Dreyfus, and Springsteen, other recipients of the 2021 National Medal of Arts and the 2021 National Humanities Medal included Vera Wang, philanthropist Fred Eychaner, artist-activist Judith Francisca Baca, film producer Joan Shigekawa, painter Antonio Martorell-Cardona, and musician José Feliciano.

Following President Biden's speech, Kaling needed time to process the magnitude of the once-in-a-lifetime moment. "To hear the President speak about my parents, their journey to the United States, my late mother's dreams for me, and the power of comedy to make people understand each other was almost too much to take in," she continued in her post. "It didn't feel real! I mean, I was sitting next to GLADYS KNIGHT."

For Kaling, receiving the award was a bittersweet victory, as she wished her mother, Swati Roysircar - who died of pancreatic cancer in 2012 - could have been there to join her. "I promise to spend the rest of my life earning this medal because I don't feel like I've earned it yet," Kaling said. "I wish my mom could have been there, but what are you gonna do. Nothing is perfect, but yesterday was pretty close. I love everyone."

In the comments section, Kaling's celebrity friends took the time to congratulate her on the incredible honor. "YOU ARE AMAZING! Congrats," Reese Witherspoon wrote alongside a gold-medal emoji. "Never Have I Ever" star Maitreyi Ramakrishnan added, "COOL KID ALERT!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!"

In 2021, HBO's "Succession" closed out its third season with a dramatic finale that viewers were SO not ready for. After yet another installment full of power grabs and high-stakes moves, episode nine of "Succession" season three delivered some unexpected plot twists that resulted in the ultimate betrayal of the Roy siblings - Roman (Kieran Culkin), Shiv (Sarah Snook), and Kendall (Jeremy Strong) - and gave Shiv's ambitious, yet spineless husband Tom Wambsgans (Matthew Macfadyen) the last laugh.

One of the biggest twists from the season three finale was undoubtedly Logan Roy's (Brian Cox) negotiated deal leading to him selling his company, Waystar RoyCo (the grandiose centerpiece of "Succession"), to tech entrepreneur Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgard) - which both secures its future and ends any chance of passing the company down to its heirs. That shocker was then followed by Tom's backstabbing decision to warn Logan of his children's "full coup" against him as they attempted to push him out of the company for good. In the end, Tom sold out Shiv to solidify his place at the top of the Waystar RoyCo ladder.

The explosive episode left a lot of viewers reeling, but according to Macfadyen, the way everything went down made perfect sense. "It's an accumulation; it's a pivot by a thousand cuts," he previously told Deadline of Tom betraying his wife. "From the very beginning, he's had to take a lot. She speaks of an open marriage on their wedding night; it hasn't been an easy ride for Tom, he's had to take a lot of sh*t from the brothers and from his father-in-law and everybody . . . I think something flipped. But when I read the last episode, I was like, 'This makes sense.'"

More Roy family drama is absolutely guaranteed in season four, which is also the show's final season. Has Tom and Shiv's marriage hit rock bottom? Who comes out on top in the messy battle for control of Waystar? We can only hope all of this is answered by the time the show comes to a close.

It's Tupac and Afeni Shakur like you've never seen them before. FX released the trailer for its new five-part docuseries "Dear Mama: The Saga of Afeni & Tupac Shakur" on March 22, and it's an emotional and reflective look at the bond between Tupac, the legendary rapper who died at just 25 years old in 1996, and his mother, Afeni. As Tupac notes in an archival interview in the trailer, his mother was a Black Panther and political activist who instilled her values of freedom, power, and revolution into her son, whom she gave birth to in 1971 when she was 24.

Tupac notes in the interview, which he gave when he was 17, that he and his mom had a complicated relationship. While he cherished many of the lessons she taught him, she was also often unavailable because of her life in activism. And as Tupac detailed in his song "Dear Mama," from which the FX series takes its name, his mother eventually became addicted to crack cocaine, putting a further strain on their relationship. Afeni died in 2016 at age 69.

The documentary series is directed by Allen Hughes, who previously directed the 2017 HBO music docuseries "The Defiant Ones" about Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre. Allen and his brother Albert, who have also directed together as the Hughes Brothers, have a long history with Tupac. The rapper was originally cast in their 1993 film "Menace II Society." They eventually fired him from the film and claim that he attacked them. Tupac was charged with assault and battery and served 15 days in jail.

FX says that the new docuseries "defies the conventions of traditional documentary storytelling to share an illuminating saga of mother and son." The network adds, "Their story chronicles the possibilities and contradictions of the U.S. from a time of revolutionary fervor to Hip Hop culture's most ostentatious decade."

Director Hughes talked about Tupac in a 2022 interview with the YouTube channel "The Art of Dialogue." Hughes reflected on the difference between Tupac and Snoop Dogg, saying of the latter that he was "a real street guy out of all these guys," per Okayplayer. "Tupac, on the other hand, while he came up in the inner city or the urban f*cked-up ghetto, he's not a street kid. He's an artist and an activist," he said, according to the outlet. "He's a performance-arts kid and he's delusional. He's just delusional in a positive way. You have to be delusional to be a great artist." He added that "to be a great artist," one must have delusions. "If you're fortunate, maybe a third of your delusions become art," he said.

Descendants fans, get ready: Brandy has officially stepped back into her glass slippers! The singer and actor is reprising her role as Cinderella in a new Descendants movie, originally titled "The Pocketwatch" but now known as "Descendants: The Rise of Red," and we finally have a first look at her regal character back in action. On March 22, 2023, Disney+ confirmed that Brandy will reunite with her now-King Charming, aka Prince Christopher (Paolo Montalban) from the 1997 "Cinderella," in the next film installment, which still doesn't have a set release date.

The streamer revealed the pair's big reunion with a video of them all dressed up in their royal outfits. In a caption, Disney+ wrote, "A royal occasion. ✨ King Charming (@itspaolomontalban) and Cinderella (@brandy) have joined the upcoming Original movie, Descendants: The Rise of Red!"

Brandy first celebrated her casting news in an Instagram post on Nov. 21, 2022, writing, "So excited to join this amazing cast and reprise my role as #Cinderella in the #DisneyDescendants sequel The Pocketwatch. Thank you to my @disney and @disneyplus fam." Singer Rita Ora has also joined the project as the Queen of Hearts.

Contrary to popular belief, the next Descendants film isn't a continuation of the original movie trilogy, but rather a new story with new characters all set in the same universe. Disney first announced the movie back in May 2022, writing in a press release at the time that it's set in "the hostile unincorporated territory of Wonderland, a magical, mysterious place made famous in 'Alice in Wonderland.'" The film will introduce Red, the "whip-smart and rebellious teenage daughter of the Queen of Hearts," and Chloe, "the perfectionist and athletic daughter of Cinderella and Prince Charming." With a coup brewing in Auradon - right when the kingdom is celebrating a new royal baby - the pair join forces to go back in time, using the White Rabbit's pocket watch, to stop a dangerous event from occurring.

"Descendants: The Rise of Red," written by Dan Frey and Russell Sommer, will be directed by Jennifer Phang. Disney says the movie will feature seven new songs - plus classic Disney tunes - and premiere exclusively on Disney+.

"Descendants 3" premiered on Disney Channel back in 2019, and it seemed that the studio wasn't going to revisit the universe and its characters. After the untimely passing of Cameron Boyce, who played Cruella de Vil's son Carlos, it was hard to imagine a film following the franchise's main characters without him.

"Descendants 3" ends with Carlos racing toward The Isle of the Lost alongside Mal, Evie, and Jay. Though it doesn't necessarily suggest a conclusion, viewers noticed something missing. The previous two Descendants films end with the line, "You didn't think this was the end of the story, did you?" In "Descendants 3," the final line is conspicuously absent.

On the day of "Descendants 3"'s release, one of the film's stars, Sofia Carson, shared a picture of her character on Instagram and her caption seemed to suggest that she was saying goodbye to the role. "My Dearest Evie," she wrote. "As I write this, I cannot bring myself to say goodbye to you . . . but this is not a good bye. You and I are bound at the heart from here until eternity. And until then I will love you, Evie. Forever and for always."

Back in May 2019, before Boyce's passing, Dove Cameron, another one of the film's stars, shared a series of now-deleted pictures on Instagram alongside a caption that claimed she had just recorded her last song for the Descendants, and no, not just for "Descendants 3." "Just had the best recording session of my whole life, and it just so happened to be my last ever #descendants song," she wrote, calling it a "bittersweet moment."

Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell could soon join the likes of Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, and Julia Roberts and Richard Gere as the next rom-com icons. On March 9, Entertainment Tonight published photographs of the "Top Gun: Maverick" and "Euphoria" stars filming a flirty scene for a movie in Australia, which set the internet ablaze. While the nitty-gritty details about the movie are being kept under wraps at the moment, we know just enough to say it's going to be one we don't want to miss.

On Jan. 11, Deadline reported that Sweeney and Powell signed on to star in a currently untitled rated-R rom-com directed by Will Gluck. Sweeney will serve as an executive producer for the project as well. Meanwhile, the film will see Powell return to his romantic-comedy roots. After all, before he starred in the Oscar-nominated "Top Gun: Maverick," Powell got his big break in the Netflix rom-com "Set It Up," starring alongside Zoey Deutch.

Discussing the new film in a March 22 interview with ET, Sweeney stayed tight-lipped about the plot but did tease a little bit of what fans can expect. "Just know the movie is going to be so much fun. It is so funny," she said, adding, "It gives love, it gives humor, it gives sex. It gives all the great things that make a movie. And we want to bring back the good ol' rom-coms with Will Gluck, and we're having a great time doing it."

If Gluck's other movies like "Easy A" and "Friends With Benefits" are anything to go by, this rom-com is going to be an instant classic.

"The landscape is beautiful," Justin Irvin Rivera tells POPSUGAR. The Puerto Rican rapper and native New Yorker better known as J.I. is referencing the Rocky Mountains just outside the window of his Colorado hotel. Rivera, 21, has racked up millions of streams over the past seven years. Yet even as a rising rap star, the contrast between his newfound circumstances and his life growing up in Brooklyn isn't lost on him.

Rather than mountains, Rivera grew up surrounded in a panorama of Crown Heights apartment buildings and city stoops, running around the maze of streets from sunup to sundown and sharpening his lyrical skills at the local ciphers. Even at a young age, the Brooklyn wordsmith always had his sights set on something bigger. But like many young dreamers, Rivera wasn't sure how to get there.

"I've been rapping for about 10 years. The plan was always to go global, I just didn't know how," he shares.

But that would all change with an invitation from Jermain Dupri to join the second season of his hip-hop reality series "The Rap Game." Rivera seized the opportunity to expand his fanbase and released his first EP, "Hood Life Krisis Vol.1." Now, having just released his fifth EP, "One Way or Another," he finds himself far beyond the asphalt boulevards of his borough and poised for international success. And while Rivera has yet to do a show in Europe (his first European show kicks off next month), his lyrical yet melodic brand of hip-hop has found plenty of fans overseas.

"We live in a market now where you don't have to be from or live in New York to hear about a New York artist," he says. "I realized that firsthand when I stepped foot in London and I'm coming out of my hotel and I got kids older than me recognizing me. And I'm just a Brooklyn kid. It's crazy how somebody can be across the globe and be so in tune with what you're doing and how you do it."

In the global age of modern hip-hop in which regional styles don't always hold as much sway as they once did, Rivera feels that this kind of connectivity has allowed him to curate an international following without sacrificing the punch-line-heavy delivery he picked up from New York City legends like Jadakiss, Fabolous, and the late Big Pun.

"It's gotten to the point where artists from over there hit me up and want to work with me because of my style, because of what I do, or the way I speak on a track," Rivera says.

That signature style sees Rivera harmonizing on tracks in a style most reminiscent of Drake but that has its roots in the melodic anthems of the early 2000s made popular by Ja Rule and, later, his rival 50 Cent. However, it's not a stretch to say that the rapper has found a way to make the sing-songy cadence that's so popular in today's hip-hop his own, combining it with a lightning-fast delivery of lyrically complex bars and strong punch lines all in a single breath.

This is evident on tracks off his latest project like "Broken Dreams" and "So So," the former seeing Rivera rap bars like: "I used to sit in the rain hoping to diminish this pain / You stabbed me in the back not knowing I got skin made for blades / You crashed a car tryna figure out what I did in my lane / I swept you off your feet and dirt is what you put on my name."

Rivera prides himself on his punch lines, and he's quick to point out that while there's no shortage of new talent in hip-hop, there aren't many young rappers who dedicate themselves to cultivating a bar-heavy flow like back in the day. But while the young emcee definitely has the lyrical chops to cut it in a rap game where diss tracks and beef can be all too common, Rivera's attitude toward competition is surprisingly sage-like, reflecting his newer, broadened horizons.

"Don't get me wrong, I feel like there's more competition now, but it doesn't concern me," he says. "I'm the only one that can destroy what I got going, you know."

Rivera understands just how fickle fortune can be and how easy it is for an up-and-coming emcee to fall off track. There's no shortage of cautionary tales about promising careers cut short, either by drugs, violence, incarceration, or a combination of them all. For the young artist, staying motivated and staying the course to success is his top priority.

"It's easy to lose sight of the purpose when you've got a lot of people coming at you," the rapper says. "It's rare that people are able to make it to the top just because of everything that's set up against them. So I just try to stay focused."

That focus goes beyond just music, as he already has plans to break into the acting industry. "I'm a big fan of acting. Movies can be just as powerful as music," he adds.

Rather than just star in movies, Rivera expresses a desire to write them. Indeed, writing and a need to express ideas regardless of the medium seem to be what have always driven him. He mentions how he would submit short stories to Scholastic as a student prior to rap. But whether it's street chronicles about addiction and lost love or something a little more cinematic, Rivera just hopes he can use his craft to inspire.

"I want people to look at my story and look at where I came from and say, 'Wow, if he could do it, I can do it.' Whatever their dream is, pop star, superstar, whatever star they want to be," he says. "Even if they don't like the music. I want them to look at my story and be able to take something positive from it and feel like they can flip their situation around."

Netflix's "To All the Boys I've Loved Before" spinoff series "XO, Kitty" is coming to romance lovers everywhere this May. On March 22, the streamer officially announced the show's release date and shared a first-look clip. It follows Kitty Song-Covey (Anna Cathcart), now a teenager and ready to make an amazing love story of her own, just like her older sister Lara Jean (Lana Condor) did in the three original films. In the new show, Kitty decides to go to boarding school in South Korea to reconnect with her long distance boyfriend Dae (Choi Min-yeong) and to learn more about her Korean heritage. But, as Netflix puts it, "She'll soon realize that relationships are a lot more complicated when it's your own heart on the line."

"To All the Boys I've Loved Before" author Jenny Han is on board as creator, writer, and executive producer of the spinoff, and she serves as co-showrunner with Sascha Rothchild. "She's stepping into the fore - picking up the baton from Lara Jean," Rothchild told Tudum on March 22 about Kitty in the series.

Han added, "'XO, Kitty' really is Kitty's story and that's part of the reason why I really wanted to set this story in a different place. . . . It felt like the greatest gift to give to Kitty was to let her as a character kind of set off on her own two feet and not put her in the shadow of either of her sisters."

"XO, Kitty" is the second TV series based on Han's stories. She also created Amazon Prime Video's "The Summer I Turned Pretty," which debuted in 2022 and is based on her book series of the same name. It seems that "The Summer I Turned PRetty" will release its second season later this year.

When it comes to songwriters penning brutal songs about the exes that broke their hearts, their former lovers' punishment is usually limited to hearing the breakup track played incessantly on the radio (like Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Swift's "All to Well"). However, in Amazon Prime Video's "Daisy Jones & The Six," a TV adaptation of the Taylor Jenkins Reid book of the same name, Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne - the kindred spirits and warring lead singers of the fictional title band - have an intense, forbidden chemistry that's only heightened by the fact that they write their most brutal lyrics about each other and force the other to sing them on tour in front of thousands of fans.

Reid made no secret of the fact that her book about the rise and fall of a 1970s rock band was partly based on Fleetwood Mac. The iconic band was defined not only by its catalog of timeless hits, but also by its history of interpersonal conflicts, a constantly rotating lineup of members, and affairs within the band - none more notable than the one between its lead singers, Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham.

According to Nicks's 2013 interview on Oprah's "Master Class," the pair were a romantic couple and a struggling musical duo called Buckingham Nicks when they were recruited to join Fleetwood Mac, an established British rock band struggling to break through in the US, in 1974. While joining the band would be their best career decision ever, Fleetwood Mac's meteoric rise to global fame spelled doom for their romantic relationship. Nicks broke up with Buckingham in 1976, but committed to sticking it out as part of the band, a decision that would inspire some of their biggest, most enduring breakup songs on their 1977 album, "Rumours."

Is "Daisy Jones & The Six" Connected to Fleetwood Mac's "Silver Springs"?

In the wake of "Daisy Jones & The Six" airing in March 2023, Nicks and Buckingham's passionate 1997 performance of the Nicks-penned song "Silver Springs" (plus the song's intriguing backstory) is picking up steam on TikTok.

In an electrifying clip from the 1997 performance, Nicks turns to Buckingham in the song's final climactic moments and sings its most emotional and vengeful lyrics looking directly at Buckingham. "I'll follow you down 'til the sound of my voice will haunt you. You'll never get away from the sound of the woman that loves you," she exclaims. She even steps closer and closer to him as she wails the words, "Never get away!" over and over again, which fans have likened to a curse.

But Buckingham doesn't shy away from Nicks's pointed delivery, instead meeting her eyes and singing the words right back to her in a moment of passion that has "Daisy Jones & the Six" fans pointing to it as one of the Fleetwood Mac performances that must have served as inspiration for Daisy and Billy's love story.

Although Reid has not explicitly stated that "Silver Springs" inspired Daisy and Billy's stage chemistry, it's hard to ignore the parallels. With scathing lyrics like "Packing up, shacking up is all you want to do," Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" track "Go Your Own Way" was Buckingham's musical take on his and Nicks's breakup. Nicks wrote "Silver Springs" as her side of the story, so imagine her discontent when - according to Rolling Stone - the band's leader, Mick Fleetwood, told her the song wouldn't make the album because it was too slow and long (there were no 30-song albums in the age of vinyl). Instead, the song was released as a B-side along with "Go Your Own Way," performed a couple of times at the band's concerts throughout the late '70s, and then slipped out of their lineup, only to be remembered by the band's most ardent fans.

Adding insult to injury, when Nicks asked Fleetwood if she could have "Silver Springs" back to include on her 1991 solo greatest hits album, "Timespace," she was met with resistance. "It didn't occur to me that they wouldn't let me have it back," Nicks told the BBC in 1991 (via Rolling Stone). "I said to [Fleetwood's] manager, 'You find Mick, and you tell him that if I don't have those tapes by Monday, I am no longer a member of Fleetwood Mac.'" Ultimately, Fleetwood refused, instead, including the song on Fleetwood Mac's 1992 anniversary album, "25 Years - The Chain" (all this despite having left the song on the cutting room floor 20 years earlier). True to her word, Nicks quit the band.

Five years later, however, Nicks and Buckingham would reunite alongside the rest of Fleetwood Mac's most successful lineup - which included Fleetwood, Christine McVie, and John McVie - for their 1997 live album recording, "The Dance." While both Nicks and Buckingham had long moved on from their relationship from 20 years earlier (Buckingham was dating his would-be wife and mother of his two daughters, Kristen Messner, at the time), the once-lovers would still go on to perform the most affecting and enduring rendition of "Silver Springs" at the concert.

"I wanted people to stand back and really watch and understand what [the relationship with Lindsey] was," Nicks told Arizona Republic about the performance (via Rolling Stone). "'Silver Springs' always ends up in that place for me because she's always very committed to what those words are about, and I remember what they were about then," Buckingham told Rolling Stone at the time. "Now it's all irony, you know, but there is no way you can't get drawn into the end of that song."

Nicks admitted the sparks fans see flying in that performance are real. "When we're [onstage] there singing songs to each other, we probably say more to each other than we ever would in real life," Nicks told Rolling Stone.

It's that irresistible chemistry - the kind that's only allowed to live and thrive through their music - that makes Daisy and Billy's love story in "Daisy Jones & The Six" so alluring. What makes Nicks and Buckingham's performance of "Silver Springs" even more affecting - like in the moment she interjects "Was I just a fool?" and "Give me just a chance!" passionately throughout the song's final chorus - is that, in their case, the chemistry is actually real. Unlike the closure fans get in "Daisy Jones & The Six," however, chances are, the extent of what fans know about what remains between Nicks and Buckingham will forever be limited to the fleeting moments of passion they showed us on stage.

Following the release of her latest album, "Holy Fvck," Demi Lovato is entering a new career lane: directing for her first-ever film. According to a March 16 Variety report, the singer is set to make their directorial debut with a forthcoming documentary for Hulu, supposedly titled "Child Star," which will reportedly "deconstruct the highs and lows of growing up in the spotlight through the lens of some of the world's most famous former child stars, including Lovato."

"There is no better film or topic for my directorial debut than this story, which is close to home," Lovato said in a statement, per Variety. "Our project sheds light on important messages about growing up in the public eye, learning to protect our boundaries, and becoming active advocates of our own destinies. I'm humbled to be able to learn from the individuals who have lived the unique experience of child stardom and share their stories in our film."

Per Variety, the documentary, which Lovato will codirect alongside Nicola Marsh, promises to feature "intimate conversations led by Lovato, verité footage, and archival material from all subjects involved" - which includes interviews with a number of former child actors.

Prior to Lovato's formal film announcement, she reflected on her days as a teen Disney Channel star in August 2022 on the "Call Me Daddy" podcast, where they got candid about what life was like for them at that time. It was then that Lovato also teased her new film.

"I do have a project in the works where I want to talk to some of those people about their experiences," they told host Alex Cooper when asked if they've ever spoken to Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, or the Jonas Brothers about their time with Disney. Of her fellow Disney stars, Lovato added that they all have talked about their shared experiences over the years, but she'd like to speak to "other child stars as well" for the documentary.

Last year, Jennette McCurdy released her memoir on Aug. 9, 2022, "I'm Glad My Mom Died," where she didn't mince words about her difficult challenges in the industry, specifically with Nickelodeon. In her book, McCurdy shared that she was allegedly offered "hush money" ($300,000) and an NDA by the kids network to prevent her from speaking about her experiences, which she turned down.

In her "Call Me Daddy" podcast interview, Lovato also touched on a similar kind of control Disney and fame had over her life as a teenager. "There were expectations on you to be a role model because, all of a sudden, you're thrust into that position, whether you want to be or not," they said. "You're on shows that kids are watching, you can't be seen at a party with a red cup in your hand because it looks like it could be alcohol."

Lovato also said, during her teen days, a website called Ocean Up would "take all scandalous things that were happening to Disney actors and put it on there." "We lived in fear of that website," they added. "Wasn't really ever Disney saying, 'You can't do this, you can't do that,' but if something happened there would be conversations."

Princess Diana's niece is officially married! On March 21, Hello! magazine exclusively confirmed Lady Amelia Spencer, 30, tied the knot with longtime partner Greg Mallett, 33, in South Africa. "It means so much to get married here," Spencer - who is the daughter of Diana's brother, Charles, and his first wife, Victoria Aitken - told the publication. "Growing up here together for the last 14 years, all of mine and Greg's happiest times as a couple are here. It's even more special now."

The mountain-top ceremony near Cape Town brought out the couple's nearest and dearest, including Spencer's twin sister Lady Eliza, her older sister Lady Kitty, and younger brother Samuel. Of marrying Spencer, the fitness and nutrition coach told Hello!, "I've been dreaming of watching Amelia walk down the aisle for 14 years."

Tyler James Williams has been in the industry ever since making his first television appearance on "Sesame Street" at age 4. In fact, in a new interview with GQ, published on March 22, Williams shared that he considers his formative years when he transitioned into adulthood a "traumatic," disorienting experience.

"The time this was happening was the same time the internet was becoming more ingrained in the industry," he said, noting that being famous as a teen was "the weirdest sh*t in the world." "So as I'm going through the most awkward years of my life, everyone sees it. I think my voice was cracking nonstop during seasons two and three [of 'Everybody Hates Chris']. I was trying to find myself in front of everybody. And everybody had an opinion and was getting used to getting theirs out."

To this day, Williams confirms that he still gets "triggered by things that are part of everybody else's childhood," like his earlier roles. "Every time someone comes up to me, regardless of what it is they recognize me for, what that says to me in the moment is that I'm seen," he added. "I have to be on, immediately, because someone's watching."

As a result of his troublesome relationship with fame, Williams told GQ that he's leaned on therapy to help him work through issues like hypervigilance. "I could hear my name being brought up from two, three tables down. I could see how many people clocked me when I walked in the door. And that's not healthy," he shared.

For the first time since her divorce, Gisele Bündchen is opening up about her relationship and subsequent split from Tom Brady. In a candid interview for the April 2023 cover of Vanity Fair, the supermodel reflected on the former couple's 13-year marriage, addressed the many rumors surrounding their breakup, and detailed her plans for the future.

Bündchen described the end of their relationship as "a death and a rebirth." The coparents shared the news of their divorce in October 2022. She told the publication, "It's tough because you imagine your life was going to be a certain way, and you did everything you could, you know?" Bündchen added, "I believed in fairy tales when I was a kid. I think it's beautiful to believe in that . . . The newest episode of "The Mandalorian" season three, released on March 22, shows, for the first time, how a padawan Baby Yoda - aka Grogu - escaped the Jedi temple during the "Revenge of the Sith" era. That's when Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) and the clones followed Order 66 and attacked all Jedi and the younglings. Viewers - and Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) - first learned that Grogu had been present at the temple that day during season two, but episode four of the third season shows through Grogu's eyes how that terrifying day went. He was saved by one Jedi in particular and that character is played by the same actor who also starred as Jar Jar Binks in the prequels! Here's how it went down.

As we see in a flashback, Grogu was rescued by the Jedi Kelleran Beq. The episode marks the character's first appearance in a Star Wars story, but his first onscreen appearance was actually as the host of the Star Wars Kids digital game show "Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge." The 10-episode YouTube series, released in 2020, featured teams of two kids competing in Jedi-themed challenges.

Though Kelleran's appearance in that show wasn't technically a Star Wars story, it did give us some background info on Jedi Master Kelleran. His nickname is the Sabered Hand and he previously served on the starship Athylia. In "Jedi Temple Challenge," he uses a purple lightsaber as a tribute to Mace Windu, played by Samuel L. Jackson in the prequels, the first Black person to portray a Jedi. However, Kelleran does not have a purple lightsaber in "The Mandalorian."

Kelleran Beq - in both "Jedi Temple Challenge" and "The Mandalorian" - is played by Ahmed Best, who first joined the Star Wars universe in 1999's "The Phantom Menace" as Jar Jar Binks, an alien who's perhaps the most controversial Star Wars character of all time. Jar Jar was primarily added for comic relief, which fans and critics tended to find ridiculous, if not offensive. However, over time the character became classic because of how ridiculous he is, with many fans coming up with theories that Jar Jar was truly the ultimate villain behind the terror in the galaxy.

And while some derided that Jar Jar was just "for kids," Best has said he's actually very proud of that fact. In a 2020 interview with Star Wars Insider, he explained, "Kids always gave me the positivity I looked for when I was playing Jar Jar." He added, "George Lucas was really about the kids and making sure they were fans of the movies. He would say that if you get the kids, then you have fans for the next 20 years."

Will Kelleran Beq return in another series? Well, we don't know what happened to him after he rescued Grogu and the Empire came to power. In 2022's "Obi-Wan Kenobi" series, viewers learned that Obi-Wan isn't the only Jedi in hiding between the end of "Revenge of the Sith" and "A New Hope," so it's possible Beq could pop up during shows set during that time, like, for instance, season two of "Andor."

While Kate Sharma's love life played out on screen in season two of "Bridgerton," Simone Ashley's relationships have been much more private in real life. That is until Ashley, who plays Sharma in the Netflix series, seemingly confirmed her romance with Constantin Klein by posting a black and white photo of the pair laughing, leaning in and noses touching, on Instagram on March 21.

The photo was taken by photographer Greg Williams at the BAFTAs Netflix afterparty at the Chiltern Firehouse in February. Ashley captioned her post, "@gregwilliamsphotography thank you for taking one of my favourite photos ❤️." The "Bridgerton" star wore an Alexandre Vauthier look with a top held together only by crystals to the event. Once she posted the previously unseen photo, fans immediately began wondering about her mystery man. And now his identity has been revealed.

Klein, who goes by Tino, according to the Evening Standard, is the CEO of the GP Ice Race, a new winter event in Austria. It is unclear how long the couple have been dating. Reps for Ashley did not immediately respond to POPSUGAR's request for comment on her new relationship.

It's also not the first time that Ashley has posted Klein on her Instagram, although previous photos were more subtle. The "Sex Education" star shared two cryptic posts in December. The first was a polaroid photo of Klein blowing out candles on his birthday cake on Dec. 19. The second carousel of photos, posted on Dec. 29, included Ashley serving serious Bond girl vibes in a mountainous location with Klein. She captioned the post: "My pooch and snowman in the mountains x" And now it seems her "snowman" has officially been confirmed - and it's melted our hearts.

Eladio Carrión is a busy man --even by industry standards. Since the release of "SEN2 KBRN VOL.2" last November, the artist has been traveling, filming videos, and doing press interviews pretty much non-stop. Whenever his docket is clear, Carrión can be found in the studio putting in more work or "practice" as he calls it. So much so that getting a moment to chat with him required months of staying in communication and shifting around schedules. But when he finally sits down, dressed in a black hat, black hoodie, and glistening chain, he's wearing the smile of a job well done.

"I just turned into the album yesterday, so I'm happy. I've got a little bit of a chip on my shoulder," the artist tells POPSUGAR.

The album in question? It's titled "3men2 Kbrn," the third and final installment of the "SEN2 KBRN" series (released March 17) and it's available across all streaming services. As for the chip on his shoulder, it's well deserved. Featuring a who's who of both English-language and Latin trap stars, Carrión has been involved in every aspect of this project from beat selection to securing some of its biggest collaborations since before the last volume dropped.

"It's been a lot of hours in the studio . . . like 16-hour sessions every day just trying to get the right sound with the producers making the beats," the rapper says. "The last three months have just been work. Just going to the gym musically."

Now, with the finished product in the hands of his label, Carrión beams with pride at the fruits of his artistic labor. "At the end of the day, the feeling you get when you tune into that album and see that tracklist, the way I'm feeling right now, it's worth every hair I've lost, every sweat I broke, and every sacrifice I've made so far," says Carrión.

But for the 28-year-old, hard work and sacrifice are all just a part of the path he feels he has been chosen to walk, one that he's been preparing for since before he even thought about doing music professionally.

But if his path to music was preordained, it was anything but a straight one. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Carrión was comfortable being on the go from a young age. He had to be. Having a father in the army meant moving around a lot. The trapero recounts a childhood spent living "everywhere," from places like Hawaii and New York (and even Alaska) before eventually settling in Humacao, Puerto Rico.

"It was kind of hard in the beginning, when you're a kid you've got your friends and you have to say bye and make new friends," he says."But I'm so glad I was exposed to that type of lifestyle at such a young age because now, with what I'm doing musically, I'm never home. I feel like God prepped me for what was coming."

But along with helping him develop a comfort for being always on the go, the constant change of scenery exposed the young lyricist to new cultures and music, helping him develop the versatility that's become his trademark. "I think I have one of the richest musical backgrounds in the industry," he says. "You know I was born in the states, and my sisters are like ten years older than me, so they're big hip-hop heads. So, when I was like six or seven, I was listening to Eminem and 50 Cent, but I also had my sisters listening to Pac, Nas, and Big L. And then there was also a time when I was only listening to punk rock."

This diverse musical taste means that when Carrión steps into the studio, he has a wealth of musical knowledge to draw from-something that's evident even in some of his earliest work: his song parodies which were produced on the now defunct social network Vine. While the overall intent of the parodies was to be funny, Carrión displayed a knack for songwriting that saw him create comical narratives while effortlessly impersonating popular artists. And as his following would grow, his parodies would become more complex.

"Yal," for example, has its own official video, which sees young Carrión mashing up two different songs, Keisha Cole's "Love" and Rihanna's "Work," to weave an ode of appreciation a todos las yales (Puerto Rican slang that comes from the Jamaican word "gyal" and Carrión uses to describe a woman who is street and loves reggaeton). But the single is significant not only for its standing as one of Carrion's best parodies, but because it was also the catalyst for him seriously pursuing a career in music.

"That [song] went crazy in Puerto Rico. I was doing shows off of that. And at that time I was already writing for other artists," he says. "So, I had a sit down with Noah [Assad], (the co-founder of Carrión's record label Rimas) and I said 'Noah, we can do this. I have music. We can do this.'"

That conversation also coincided with Carrión feeling more disenchanted as just a writer. His spot-on impressions of reggaetoneros had caught the attention of more than a few who then brought him on to write for them. But as he transitioned from writing songs in their respective styles to writing songs on his own, Carrión felt like he was giving more of himself away. With the success of "Yal" and the feedback from fans, he owed it to himself to give music a serious shot. Albeit, with one caveat.

"I said 'Hey, if it doesn't work out in two years, and I don't have not one hit song, I'll stay as a writer,'" says the reggaetonero.

But failure wasn't in the cards. Shortly after that conversation, Carrión would go on to collaborate with major artists such as reggaeton crooner Zion and the biggest artist in the world- Bad Bunny. Despite catching some early flack for being an influencer trying to make it as a musician, Carrión knew that the best way to silence his critics was to ignore the hate and to keep putting out quality music.

"In my head, I was like, 'If you keep on dropping hot shit, there's going to be a time where they can't talk sh*t anymore. Because, well what are they going to say?'" the rapper boasts.

With this latest album, Carrión has done just that. "3men2 Kbrn" closes the book on the sophomore chapter in Carrión's career while heralding his latest era in triumphant fashion. Whereas the second volume of the series was moody and minimal, volume three goes bigger in just about every way. Originally conceived as a deluxe version of its predecessor, only a handful of those songs receive remixes. The rest are all new cuts Carrión cooked up with his "avengers squad" of producers with the express purpose of getting some of the biggest names in trap to rhyme alongside him. And while the emcee has never been shy about sharing the spotlight, with dozens of collaborations under his belt, this time around feels different.

One of the stand-out tracks on the album, "Gladiador," sees Carrión rapping alongside childhood idol Lil Wayne on a beat the Puerto Rican hit-maker says was tailor-made to evoke "The Carter III" vibes. On "Si Salimos," 50 Cent channels the essence of his "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" era while Carrión switches seamlessly between English and Spanish to showcase some bilingual bars. There's even a track on the album with Bad Bunny titled "Coco Chanel" about living the high life. Fans have been quick to suspect that Bad Bunny is shading Kendall Jenner's ex Devin Booker in his lyrics.

There is a weight behind these features, with Carrión establishing himself as the bridge between hip-hop's past and its future, proving that he can hold his own with even your favorite rapper's favorite rapper.

If there were any lingering doubts that the former influencer wasn't an elite artist, Carrión has demolished them.

Carrión's career has been filled with the kind of success that hip-hop dreams are made of. He's gone platinum, earned a Latin Grammy nom, and worked with the biggest names in the urban genre. And he shows no signs of slowing down. Even with his first Coachella appearance coming up in April and a subsequent stateside tour in May, the artist is already thinking about his next album.

"I'm already thinking, 'Damn, what am I gonna do now?'" the rapper says, referencing his mind set on his next project. "I always tell myself I'm going to take a good two months off of the studio, but I always come back a week after and you know, get back to practice. Because it's just like playing basketball or any other thing. It's not about how talented you are but how much you practice."

As a former swimmer representing Puerto Rico at the international level, it's no surprise that Carrión approaches his career with more of an athlete's mentality than that of an artist. He actually credits his years in the sport with showing him how good it can feel to set a high goal and find accomplishment. It's a feeling he chases every time he's in the booth.

But on "3men2 Kbrn," Carrión takes inspiration from a different sport, with the official media and visualizer videos showing the rapper kicking back on the lush links of a golf course. The album's 18 tracks even match up with golf's 18 holes. It's a fitting analogy for where Carrión is at in this stage in his career.

Despite its perception as low energy, golf is exceptionally challenging. It can take years to master, and it's often said that, while there are other competitors on the course, the real game is the one played against yourself. And in this respect, the young rapero's choice of aesthetic for his latest offering makes perfect sense.

Every time he steps into the booth, Carrión is engaged in a game of one-upmanship against himself. Every bar needs to be better. Every beat needs to go harder. And for the most part, he succeeds. With every at-bat, he's giving us a slightly different look. Sometimes it's more intimate rhymes that detail the artist's inner struggles. At other times, it's a beat that straddles the line between EDM and trap. But regardless of how he chooses to mix it up, it's clear that when Carrión pushes himself, he pushes the genre forward.

"I make this for people to say, 'Oh sh*t- he did that. How did he do it again?' I love that feedback. I love giving my fans something better than what came before," he concludes.
