These easy Easter crafts are great for people of any ability and no matter your favorite craft. I’ve collected ideas using plastic eggs, crafting your own eggs, Easter baskets to make, bunny and carrot crafts, paper crafts and more.

There are crafts for people who knit, sew, crochet, or none of the above. Let’s explore these fun Easter crafts.

Plastic Easter Egg Crafts

It feels like the plastic Easter eggs multiply through the years, but luckily there are lots of things you can do with them other than egg hunts. My daughter loved sound games using eggs and we also made plastic eggs into maracas.

I recently made this DIY Easter egg garland that just involves stringing plastic Easter eggs onto a ribbon or string, which is fun and makes a cute Easter decoration you can use inside or out.

It’s a short leap from an Easter egg garland to an Easter egg wreath, like this one from Crazy Little Projects. If you don’t have enough eggs in your stash to do this, hit the dollar store to get a bunch that coordinate.

Make your eggs into tiny planters you can use to start seeds or make into an Easter centerpiece with this cute and easy Easter craft idea from Made with Happy.

Use the same kind of idea to make little candle holders like these from A Kalio Chic Life.

Easter eggs can be turned into monsters or aliens as in this tutorial from Artsy Craftsy Mom, or into fun birds and other whimsical animals like this one from junk & stuff.

Speaking of birds, you can also use an Easter egg as a mold to make a tasty treat for the birds. There are lots of recipes for this but I like this one from Redeem Your Ground.

Of course you can use plastic Easter eggs as molds for other things, too. Bitz & Giggles made bath bombs with Easter eggs, and Mama Papa Bubba made a healthier version of rice crisp cereal treats molded into eggs and dipped in chocolate. Yum!

DIY Easter Eggs

If you want to ditch the plastic eggs altogether you can make your own eggs. I made these super cute felt Easter eggs, which allow you to practice your embroidery and other embellishment skills as you like.

Plain Living Home has a great pattern for fabric Easter eggs with three different options for sewing depending on how fast you want to make them. I also wanted to share this one from Easy Things to Sew because I love that they used an old shirt for one of them.

Want to make eggs to play with rather than to fill? These stuffed eggs from The Velvet Aubergine are super cute for Easter or any other time.

CreativeBug has a great class that includes fillable fabric and crochet Easter eggs, as well as paper eggs that are single use.

If you’re a crocheter, check out the refillable crochet Easter egg from A Crafty Concept, or grab a 3D Easter egg pattern from Yarnspirations.

Weirdly I don’t see a knit version of the fillable Easter egg (guess I’d better get on that!) but you can knit up a solid egg with this easy pattern (worked on flat needles) from Gina Michele. Or try these cute ones, also worked flat with two sizes available and a ton of variations, from Mariana’s Lazy Daisy Days.

These cute origami Easter eggs from The Craftaholic Witch might not hold much beyond a little origami chick, but they’re adorable so I’ll allow it (more diy Easter paper crafts below!).

Easter Basket Patterns

Now that we’ve crafted all our eggs, we need some baskets, right? I have several patterns for DIY Easter baskets including a mini knit Easter basket and a larger Easter basket knitting pattern, a crochet Easter basket and a small Easter basket made on a circular knitting machine.

Try you hand at weaving with this woven Easter basket tutorial from Flax and Twine that actually doesn’t look that hard.

Studio Rosie has a super simple coiled basket made with pipe cleaners and yarn (you can see the DIY on Instagram). You could make a bigger version with rope and fabric strips if you want, or try using plastic grocery bags as your core.

I love this little paper bag Easter basket (which might be more for decor than the egg hunt) from DIY Beautify. Another super simple one is made from a paper plate like this one from Hip 2 Save. Kids would have fun decorating either of these.
