Between weather delays, two different fields in two different cities, and two days of softball, the Navarre Raider softball team faced a lot of uncertainty on its regional semifinal trip to St. Augustine.
What isn’t uncertain is where the Raiders are headed next – the Region 1-6A title game to play for the right to go to state.

The Navarre Paddle Classic is back, bringing paddlers, spectators and outdoor enthusiasts together for a weekend of competition and community connection. The fifth annual event will return to Navarre Beach Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17. Start times for the event are 8:45 a.m. to 9 a.m. each day.

A Gulf Breeze man was arrested in Foley, Alabama, after authorities said he held a 71-year-old man at gunpoint and forced him to drive to a bank and withdraw money. Grant Barrett, 42, is charged with kidnapping an adult for ransom and battery.

Matt Wood is headed to Soundside, where he will be the school’s first softball and boys cross-country coach.
Wood was announced as the coach on Tuesday.

Blame it on the rain. It’s the reason Navarre’s softball team wasn’t able to finish its Region 1-6A semifinal against Tocoi Creek on Tuesday night.
The Raiders are scheduled to resume at some point Wednesday as they aim to punch a ticket to the regional title game Thursday night at Pace.
