I don't think it's possible to connect with aliens to be honest. Let's think about it for a bit.
Most of the advanced life forms wouldn't be able to detect us, as the speed of the light is just ....not good enough when compared to the distance between the galaxies. Advanced life forms would still witness just dinosaurs roaming on Earth and nothing more....not to mentio...
To be honest, as a woman I would like to choose a futuristic era. I don't really think women were treated fairly and equally in the past. So no I wouldn't want to go back to the past.
However as a man, I would like to slip into the 1900's and even the 1800's as well. The culture and the dressing fascinates me quite a bit.
I used to like transmigration stories quite a bit then I came across this story. I forgot the name but in that..... the protagonist's soul watches how another soul gets transmigrated into her body and how she achieved a lot and how everyone accepted her.

Most of the time, they forgive pretty much everything. For me, that's kinda hard to comprehend. Can you really forgive someone who hurt you just like that? I do get the concept of forgive and forget....but there is a limit to that.
If it's something unintentional then sure, we can do that...or at least we can give it a try....but what if it's intentional?
