When you hear the word distortion...
You might imagine:
A screaming guitar.
A broken speaker.
Something aggressive.
But distortion can also be:
Warm.
Smooth.
Subtle.
Almost invisible.
In fact...
A little distortion can make almost anything sound more exciting.
Close your eyes.
Clap your hands in a bedroom.
Now imagine doing the same thing in:
A bathroom.
A church.
A canyon.
Outer space.
The original clap stays the same.
What changes is everything around it.
That is reverb.
And when you're producing music...
You get ...
