GILBERT, Ariz. – Six members of the Lamar University women's tennis team have been named 2026 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athletes announced organization officials. Those players include senior Savannah Bijlsma, junior Martina Alcaino, sophomores Asta Miettinen and Luana Paiva and freshmen Eva Gumenyuk and Lera Zaginayko.

FRISCO, Texas – Lamar University senior track and field athlete Ethan Ellis has been named the recipient of the Steve McCarty Citizenship Award announced Southland Conference officials Friday morning. Ellis becomes the second Cardinal in the past three years to win the award (2024 - Devon King, Football).
