Ting Internet, DIRECTV and Laguna Woods Village are making steady progress in bringing fiber connectivity to every manor. To help keep everyone informed, below are answers to some of the most common questions we receive.

Ting

When will my fiber internet be activated?

Your activation date depends on construction progress in your neighborhood. As installation opportunities become available, Ting will contact you with information about preparing your building and scheduling your installation.

Residents are encouraged to schedule their fiber installation as soon as appointments become available. Waiting until late in the year could limit appointment availability and may result in an interruption to internet or television service.

When should residents stop paying for West Coast Internet?

Continue using and paying for West Coast Internet until Ting service is activated in your manor. At that time, you may cancel your West Coast Internet service. West Coast Internet service will end throughout the Village December 31, 2026. If you choose to keep your comline or fea email addresses, please call West Coast Internet directly at 949-487-3300.

Ting Internet will be provided at no cost until December 31, 2026. Starting January 1, 2027, Ting Internet will be included in the monthly assessment.

What will this cost me?

Beginning in January 2027, the monthly assessment will include $40 for Ting Internet and $25 for DIRECTV Stream, for a combined monthly cost of $65. Ting Internet provides speeds of up to 2,000 Mbps upload and download, with no data caps or additional equipment fees.

The Village’s DIRECTV Stream package includes more than 90 channels, local networks, HBO Max (ad free) and Paramount+ with Showtime (ad free). Residents may purchase additional programming packages directly from DIRECTV by visiting linktr.ee/LagunaWoodsVillage.

Internet and TV Choices

Can I keep my current internet provider?

West Coast Internet will remain available only through Dec. 31, 2026. Fiber installation is required to receive Ting Internet and the Village’s DIRECTV Stream service.

Can I keep my current TV service? Can I opt out of DIRECTV?

Legacy cable television service will end Nov. 30, 2026. Residents who want to continue receiving television service through the Village program must transition to DIRECTV before that date.

Residents who prefer a different television experience may use other internet-based streaming services over the Ting fiber network.

What is the channel lineup?

The Village’s DIRECTV package includes more than 90 channels, local broadcast stations, HBO Max, Paramount+ with Showtime, DVR and streaming capabilities, and two Gemini devices with voice remotes.

How can I watch Village Television after the transition is complete?

Village Televisionwill not be available on DIRECTV, but residents can continue watching Village Television programming three ways:

Village Television YouTube: Watch local programs on demand.
