Several weeks ago, YouTuber Chris Gore revealed on his podcast that Walt Disney was considering promoting Avengers: Doomsday with multiple teaser trailers during screenings of AVATAR: Fire and Ash. This was shortly after an obsured number of teaser trailer cuts was rumored for the Marvel mega-crossover, totaling almost 60. Many didn’t take this rumor seriously, since only Christopher Nolan has ever released theater-exclusive trailers for his films that never end up online.

Now, a new report confirms that four teaser trailers will debut during screenings of AVATAR: Fire and Ash. Each teaser will debut over 4 weeks starting on December 19th. As this has never been attempted in theaters before, it’s unknown whether each teaser tells a “story” in four parts or is four entirely different trailers. Each will be about 60 seconds long.

While this is pure speculation, it would be fun if each trailer were separate but revealed around a single plot point, like the oncoming Incursion events across the multiverse. Showing four confirmed “teams” as they witness their universe shattering, showcasing The Avengers, The New Avengers (Thunderbolts*), X-Men, and the Fantastic Four. While Tobey Maguire is rumored to appear in the film, it’s unlikely his Spider-Man universe would be spoiled in this marketing stunt. It’s also possible that one of the trailers could be Doctor Doom-centric, though that is unknown. It’s also unlikely they will be released online, with a special online-only trailer set for December 19th.
