For the rest of October, our events calendar is jam-packed with ways for you and your family to dive into spooky season before Halloween even officially arrives. Not to mention, Haunted Library, opens a new window at the Independence Branch will be celebrating its 20th anniversary on October 23 and 24.

Teen Halloween Party, opens a new window – October 9 at Independence Branch – Get into the Halloween spirit early with your friends at the library. Costumes appreciated but not required. Open to ages 11-18.
Kids Sing-a-long: Halloween, opens a new window – October 12 at Erlanger Branch – Sing, play and dance along to Halloween tunes.
Monday Night Fun: Pumpkins, opens a new window – October 12 at Erlanger Branch – Enjoy family-friendly activities and pumpkin-themed crafts for all ages.
Tiny Dancers: Ballet & Creative Movement, opens a new window – October 15 at Covington Branch – Dance to spooky music in your costume! Designed for kids who love to move. Grown-ups are welcome to participate.
Little Halloween at the Library, opens a new window – October 15 at Independence Branch – Stop by for trick-or-treating, Halloween-themed crafts and a chance to explore our mini pumpkin patch.
Spooky Craft, opens a new window – October 15 and 24 at Erlanger Branch – Join us for Halloween-themed crafts to celebrate spooky season. Register ahead of time to ensure enough supplies are provided.
Tales from the Pumpkin Patch, opens a new window – October 17 at Covington Branch – Join us for a special Saturday Storytime. Share stores, rhymes and songs, and (weather permitting) enjoy a pumpkin patch activity and photo op outside.
Open Barre: Adult Ballet Class, opens a new window – October 19 at Covington Branch – Discover the joy of movement in a one-hour adult ballet class tailored to your experience level. In this class, you'll be dancing to spooky music. Please wear clothes you can move in and socks or ballet slippers (costumes are welcome otherwise). Registration required.
Mini-Pumpkin Painting, opens a new window – October 19 at Erlanger Branch – Paint a miniature pumpkin at the library. Registration required. Space is limited, so be sure to register for each child.
Wild Wednesday: Spooky Potions Lab, opens a new window – October 21 at Erlanger Branch – Step into a bubbling cauldron of fun. In this magical workshop, young witches and wizards will enter the kid-friendly potions lab to mix, fizz, swirl and stir their own spooky potion.
Kid's Scary Movie Night, opens a new window – October 23 at Covington Branch – Join us for a kid-appropriate scary movie. Snacks and drinks provided.
Latonia Block Party, opens a new window – October 24 at Latonia Baptist Church – Dress in your favorite costume and stop by the KCPL booth at the Latonia Block Party to games, candy and prizes.
Monday Night Fun: Halloween Party, opens a new window – October 26 at Erlanger Branch – Put on your costume and head to the library for family-friendly activities and a Halloween party.
Five Night's at Freddy's Pizza Party, opens a new window – October 26 at Covington Branch – Get in the spooky spirit and join us for a pizza party while watching the Five Nights at Freddy's movie (rated PG-13). Registration encouraged.
Halloween Bingo & Costume Contest, opens a new window – October 28 at Erlanger Branch – Win sweet candy prizes at Halloween Bingo while showing off your costumes. Don't miss the costume contest which will kick off at 7:10. Best for ages 4 and up.
Boo Bash, opens a new window – October 29 at Covington Branch – Join us for a fun-filled night of trick-or-treating and carnival games.
Drive-In Movie: Hotel Transylvania, opens a new window – October 30 at Latonia Branch – Sit in front of the big screen for a "drive-in" movie in the library parking lot. Light refreshments will be provided, but feel free to bring your own snacks or dinner. Co-sponsored by Covington Parks & Recreation.
Tiny Tot Trick-or-Treat, opens a new window – October 30 and 31 at Erlanger Branch – Calling all babies and toddlers! Don your cutest costumes and join us for a delightful daytime trick-or-treat party tailored for those ages 0-3. Siblings welcome.
