The organisers of GenXS Infinit are pulling out all the stops to ensure that revellers have the best Carnival experience this year. Current sensation and 2025 Grenada Soca Monarch and People’s Choice champion Muddy, whose massive hit Payroll has taken the scene by storm, the veteran hitmaker Machel Montano, and Klassik Frescobar are among the musical delights expected to raise the adrenaline at lead-up events as well as the road march which is scheduled for April 12. Speaking with the Jamaica Observer at the media launch for GenXS Carnival held at the Regency Bar, Terra Nova All-Suite’s’ Hotel, Muddy promised tons of excitement on the road. “I just came off the flight, went and changed, and here I am. This is my first trip to Jamaica and I want to experience the energy of the people. So I am getting the opportunity to come and represent my culture and my music, so I had to say yes to GenXS,” said Muddy. He added: “I will be giving my best, I will be bringing excitement and much more to the road march, so everyone should come out and have a great time.” Kibwe McGann, a director of GenXS, shared that, in its fourth staging locally, GenXS will be elevating the experience. “[W]e’re going to raise the bar as usual. It’s gonna be more excitement, and there’s gonna be more artistes on the road. Infinit is all about energy,” said McGann. Tagyei Belinfante, a director of GenXS, for his part, said: “GenXS is all about emerging artistes and bringing what’s new and fresh. Grenada jab is all the rage right now, and we’re paying attention. We have several lead-up events going into the road march on April 12. On Wednesday April 8 there’s Cooler Babe, then Touch Down at Janga’s the following day. Up next it’s Friday Jam, which will feature soca and Jamaican vibes, then on Saturday there’s Immortals J’Ouvert, featuring Muddy then Strut at Maiden Cay, and on Sunday it’s the GenXS Infiniti road march featuring Machel Montano. On April 12 we cruise to Maiden Cay for Sunset, our final event.” Massy Distribution Senior Brand Manager Gabrielle Curling is looking forward to the new partnership. “Carnival has become one of Jamaica’s greatest expressions of blended cultures, shared rhythms and creative energy. We truly understand the beauty of coming together and creating something even more powerful,” she said, adding that consumers are in for a treat. “By making purchases of Quaker Oats and Swiss Mambo Sauce in the trade our customers will have a chance to win GenXS costumes and several attractive prizes, including a J’Ouvert package and Carnival glam hub and more.” Also on board for the first year, Pepsi Jamaica’s Ashli Raye Ricas, brand coordinator, said revellers will be refreshed all the way up to the road march. “Pepsi is deeply embedded in local culture, and we’ll be providing refreshment and hydration on the road and at J’Ouvert,” said Ricas. KFC’s Marketing Manager Andrei Roper said the four-year partnership with GenXS has been good. “GenXS has brought a real burst of excitement, fresh dynamism, and an amazing Carnival experience from Miami to Jamaica... We’ll be providing the KFC finger lickin’ product experience to Carnival revellers right through the season,” Roper told the Jamaica Observer. Rum Stripe Brand Manager Arnaldo Martin described the relationship with GenXS as rewarding. “[I]t’s been great, amazing, a real amazing partnership. Red Stripe as a business has always been a part of Carnival in Jamaica... We’ve created that experience in a can on the road to continue to ensure that you sustain vibes, energy, and excitement for the entire Carnival season,” Martin shared. Delano Seiveright, minister of state, Ministry of Industry, Investment, and Commerce commended the GenXS team for creating an ultra-premium experience. “It’s not easy work, it’s a lot of work to put into creating an ultra-luxury experience, and so the Government of Jamaica, we’re proud of the team. They employ many people, but beyond that, the industry on a whole is critical now to the Jamaican economy...It has a huge effect on the economy; the hotels benefit, the airbnb’s, restaurants, cookshops, car rental companies, taxi operators, DJs, make-up artistes, hairdressers, nail technicians, lighting crew, photographers, barbers, and much more. This runs deep from small to large businesses and micro enterprises. Thanks GenXS and the other Carnival bands for contributing to Jamaica’s economy,” said Seiveright.
