"The Artist"
This painting was done for my second book with Harvest House Publishing, "Growing Up Cowboy". What I like most about this painting is the dog's reaction. As you know if you follow my work, I always use the animals to help tell the story. The dog can't figure out what the boy is looking at, and the horse has given up and started eating.

"A Couple Of Shady Characters"
I enjoy paintings which have strong story-lines. In this case, the viewer gets to imagine how this robbery will play out. The stagecoach may get safely away, or it might end in a shoot-out. I set the stage, you decide.

"Friends Like No Other"
Fall paintings are some of my favorites. The intense colors always pull in the viewer. Here, a cowboy is in the high country while the aspens sing with his two pals, his dog and horse. I'll bet he appreciates the beauty that surrounds him.

It's just not this cook's day. Although he's made it across the river just fine, that uphill climb wasn't so easy. He'll have to spend a while, cleaning the mess and trying to get all the dirt out of his flour.
