N9796N (c/n 43375), the former Kamaka Air Super DC-3, has been further dismantled and packed by PMX Aviation, in order to be put on ship to send to the Port of Los Angeles. It will be restored and reassembled by the Fourrier Foundation (its current owner), and made airworthy to fly again in the future.

With Hurricane Lala approaching and expected to pass over Hawai‘i Island today, the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation has already closed ITO for the day, and will close KOA around 14:00.
