A slightly cooler day but despite the small amount of rain we had during the week, still not enough to go back to steam. Although the drought isn't over yet, we are at least getting some rain and the forecast shows more on the way with even a mention of "heavy rain", though a recent check shows that to have disappeared.

Wednesday

As usual Wednesday's photos were kindly taken by Gerry. 

With temperatures feeling more like normal, we all feel a lot better and our various jobs seem easier to tackle. There's even the promise of some overnight rain, though it will only be light.

 As a freight was taking the Broadway platform 2 building up to Broadway I confidently expected rake 1 in P2, and only 6 carriages because the buffet car is out for communications mods. (To make the card machine work). Instead I found 7 coach rake 2 in P2.

Well done to the Wednesdays for continuing as they did. On Thursday with the temperature eventually hitting 36C (my car while parked registered 37C), there were just 7 of us in, dropping to just 3 by mid afternoon.
