I have some Bud 10 here. Slow grower for sure in our hot, humid climate. But unlike Bud 9 it has not up and died here. Point of fact I ordered 3 1/2 caliper Bud 10 to make a tall stepover with Pionior scions which seem ideal for it.

My main experience is with my nursery trees that have been growing for 2 years of more in 25 gallon pots after placing them there as pretty big trees I’ve sized up in in-ground bags. i am in a pretty arid place. i dig my holes one day and throw water in. and into the pile I’ll refill with. next day I’ll put the bare root trees in a big bucket with some muddy water in the bottom. i carry that thing out and plant them from it. i don’t carry extra water with me but I’ll go back along after planting them in and use whatever is left in the bucket on any where ...
