I'm about to re-home my goldfish and turn my pond into more of a wildlife pond. My question is, is it ok to still have a pump in it to still have the small waterfall running, sometimes? It only has a 10cm drop to the pond and I can control it so it's very gentle.
Will frogs and other wonderful beasties be put off by the slight movement of the waterfall at all? Is there anyt...

Bog Filter

Hi, I have a pond at the top and base of waterfall, with goldfish in the bottom pond. I am wanting to turn the top pond into a bog filter and use the waterfall. Looking for ideas on how to turn the top pond into a bog filter - feeling a bit stuck due to the shape of it.

Hi, first time posting!
I would like to use a section of my existing pond and create a bog using a porous wall to separate the two. Pond is 25’ x 20’ x 5’ deep with sloping bottom with a bottom drain. The bog is in the end opposite the waterfall and would be fed by a skimmer and external pump.
My question, the separation wall would be constructed of flat basalt flagstone...
