UPDATE:  The Piedras Blancas rookery has not been affected by the recent HPAI (avian influenza) outbreak in northern elephant seals. The Elephant Seal Viewing Area and Visitor Center remain open to the public. At the same time, we all remain on alert for any signs of disease at the Piedras Blancas Elephant Seal Rookery.
