FX4, Supercab,Stepside, Black, That i got new in 05 that now only has 21,000 on it. Not bad for a 04. I have read alot about the 'rattle'. Mine had developed the death noise about 3,000 miles ago...

Hi All, I, Carmen, have a 2000 Explorer XLT 4.0 SOHC, Whitley. Just wanted to introduce us to the forum.

I'm curious if anyone has modified the exhaust on their PIU? I have a 2022 Ecoboost and the rear tailpipes are only 1.5" diameter. Theres no way a twin turbo can breathe well thru those. Most of the exhaust prior to the rear resonators is larger diameter. I know the ST guys have all the aftermarket options and I'd guess I could make one fit, but I was curious if anyone has tried...

Do original 4.0 OHV valve guides press out? Or do they need drilled and reamed?

I just finished the Guide\Chain\Tensioners on my 2002 4.6 2V Explorer last night.... It had 193,000 km on it... and the drivers side chain had eaten thru the guide - all the way back into the tensioner piston.

Now my other Explorer is sitting in the driveway looking at me... it is a 2008 4.6 3V with 197,000 km on it.....engine has never made a noise and truck is like ne...
