I run backups in a primative way. What do I mean by that? I have a pair of backup drives. I used to use "dump" to do full (monthly) and incremental (weekly) backups of my computers. Dump has been retired as it no longer supports the file systems used. I changed scripts to use "tar" and am looking at 'rsync'. Of course you have to ignore some inconsequential errors (files changing as a browser is up, ...) and that is a PITA but manageable. As a long-time Comcast customer I have been using their provided email services for decades. I have two comcast.net email accounts, and I have been using Alpine to read/send mail for those accounts. I've been happy with how that setup works. Well, last December I was notified that Comcast is moving all their comcast.net mail accounts to Yahoo Mail in 2026:

I have two machines. One was installed to Fedora 43 from USB stick; the other was upgraded from 42 to 43 using dnf. The latter is my backup. I can ssh back and forth painlessly but the backup machine is weird when I login fom the maine console.
