The Ekiti State Executive Council, at its third meeting of 2026 held on Tuesday, 14th April 2026, considered and approved a range of policy initiatives and strategic projects aimed at strengthening governance, enhancing institutional capacity, advancing infrastructure development, and promoting sustainable socio-economic growth across the State.

The following are the key decisions taken by Council:

1. Approval of Payment of ₦60,722,540.00 as Compensation to 15 Property Owners affected by the acquisition and demolition of structures within the 50-metre setback along the airport entrance corridor.

The State Executive Council approved the payment of ₦60,722,540.00 (sixty million, seven hundred and twenty-two thousand, five hundred and forty naira only) as compensation to fifteen (15) property owners affected by the acquisition and demolition of structures within the 50-metre setback along the airport entrance corridor.

This approval is aimed at ensuring compliance with safety standards prescribed by relevant aviation regulatory agencies, as well as enhancing the aesthetic appeal and operational efficiency of the airport, which remains one of the flagship projects of the present administration.

The exercise will be carried out within one (1) week through direct labour by the Bureau of Land Services, in collaboration with relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

2. Approval for Renovation and Solar Installation in Health Facilities

The Executive Council approved the sum of ₦737,743,476.67 for the installation of solar power systems and additional works on ongoing renovation projects across key health facilities in the State.

The contract, awarded to Messrs. Step Development Limited, covers nine General Hospitals, the Government House Clinic, the Hospitals Management Board (HMB) Headquarters, and selected structures at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti.

The approval followed a comprehensive review of ongoing works, which revealed the need for additional interventions to enhance structural integrity, safety, functionality, and long-term sustainability.

The scope of additional works across the General Hospitals includes:

Ijan General Hospital – Tiling of wards and toilets, construction of a new mortuary road and gate, additional electrification, and installation of air conditioning in the theatre.

Ijesa-Isu General Hospital – Installation of suspended ceilings, construction of a perimeter fence, walkways, additional electrification, and air conditioning in the theatre.

Ilupeju/Itapa General Hospital – Construction of a new theatre, roof replacement, general repairs, and installation of suspended ceilings.

Ayede General Hospital – Tiling, re-roofing, suspended ceilings, and installation of steel doors.

Iye General Hospital – Roof replacement, construction of block walls, installation of air conditioning, and construction of a generator house.

Ifaki General Hospital – Installation of suspended ceilings, air conditioning, structural beams, and reconstruction of drainage systems.

Ilawe General Hospital – Demolition of unsafe structures, installation of windows, drainage works, and provision of air conditioning.

Efon Alaaye General Hospital – Construction of a new theatre, provision of air conditioning, and general repairs.

Oke-Imesi General Hospital – Provision of an Accident and Emergency unit, construction of a ramp, and installation of air conditioning.

In addition, the project includes the replacement of wooden roofing at the Accident and Emergency Unit of EKSUTH with steel materials, as well as the remodelling of the Government House Clinic into a standard hospital facility.

The intervention is expected to ensure reliable power supply through solar installations, improve infrastructure and working conditions for healthcare personnel, and enhance patient care and service delivery across the State.

This initiative, which underscores the Government’s commitment to strengthening the healthcare system and advancing sustainable development in Ekiti State, is scheduled for completion within three (3) months.

3. Approval for Earth-Dredging Works in Flood-Prone Areas

The Executive Council approved the sum of ₦197,348,500.00 (one hundred and ninety-seven million, three hundred and forty-eight thousand, five hundred naira only) for the execution of earth-dredging works on river courses at critical flood-prone locations across Ekiti State.

The project will be carried out in Ado-Ekiti, Ikere, Irepodun/Ifelodun, and Emure Local Government Areas.

Execution will be through direct labour by the Ekiti State Environmental Protection and Watershed Management Agency, leveraging its technical expertise and operational capacity.

The dredging works are expected to improve water flow, reduce flood risks, protect infrastructure and farmlands, and enhance environmental sustainability.

The project is scheduled for completion within six (6) months.

This initiative further reinforces the Government’s commitment to proactive environmental management and disaster risk reduction.

4. Approval for Renovation of MSME Clinic and Ultra-Modern Garment Factory

The Executive Council approved the sum of ₦161,768,108.11 (one hundred and sixty-one million, seven hundred and sixty-eight thousand, one hundred and eight naira, eleven kobo only) for the renovation of the National Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Clinic and Ultra-Modern Garment Factory located at Odua Textile, Ado-Ekiti.

The facility suffered significant damage following a rainstorm, affecting roofing, electrical installations, and ceilings, thereby exposing critical equipment to deterioration.

The approval followed an on-site assessment by the Bureau of Special Projects to restore the facility, safeguard equipment, and ensure continued training and empowerment of youths.

The project is scheduled for completion within six (6) weeks.

This initiative further demonstrates the Government’s commitment to youth empowerment, skills development, and sustainable economic growth.

5. Approval for Subsidized Tractorization Programme for Farmers

The Executive Council approved the sum of ₦500,000,000.00 (five hundred million naira only) for the implementation of a Subsidized Tractorization Programme.

The programme is designed to boost agricultural productivity, expand cultivated land, and improve food security by providing subsidized access to tractors and farm implements, particularly ahead of the 2026 planting season.

Messrs. Rismosh Investment Nigeria Limited will handle the programme.

The project is scheduled for completion within eight (8) weeks.

This initiative reinforces the Government’s commitment to agricultural transformation and food security.

6. Approval for Payment of ₦101,948,000.00 to Project Affected Persons (SAPZ, Itapaji Agro-Industrial Hub)

The Executive Council approved ₦101,948,000.00 (one hundred and one million, nine hundred and forty-eight thousand naira only) for compensation to landowners affected by the Agro-Industrial Hub in Itapaji under the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) Programme.

The exercise will ensure fair settlement, facilitate smooth project implementation, and strengthen community support.

Execution will be through direct labour by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security within four (4) weeks.

This approval underscores the Government’s commitment to inclusive development and agro-industrial investment.

7. Approval for Land Clearing to Support Youth in Agriculture Programme (2026)

The Executive Council approved ₦1,552,500,000.00 (one billion, five hundred and fifty-two million, five hundred thousand naira only) for land clearing across selected communities.

The intervention will cover 675 hectares and be executed through direct procurement based on contractor capacity and performance.

The project is scheduled for completion within three (3) months.

This initiative reinforces the Government’s commitment to youth empowerment and agricultural expansion.

8. Approval for Construction of Warehouses in Five (5) Locations

The Executive Council approved ₦1,101,428,746.00 (one billion, one hundred and one million, four hundred and twenty-eight thousand, seven hundred and forty-six naira only) for the construction of warehouses across five locations under the “Bring Back Our Youths Programme.”

The warehouses will enhance storage capacity, reduce post-harvest losses, and strengthen agricultural value chains.
