Edinburgh Southern Orienteering Club News

The second coaching day for club members in the East of Scotland area was held on Kinnoull Hill on the outskirts of Perth.

Keen Orienteers and Turfers all met up in the Bonnington area of North Edinburgh for a night of activity, it was dry and warmish to start with but the temperature descended rapidly during the event and many came back seeking the warmth of the local hostelry in double quick time! 

Another small ESOC contingent returned to Glen Dye, following it's use on the final day of last year's Scottish 6 Days. This time there was 3rd place for Sally on Short Green and 4th places for Ben on Brown and Alison on Green. 

Although the ESOC contingent was small, there were 7 podium places for the club, with 1st places for Hannah, Alison & Ewart, including a clean sweep in the women's ultravet category! Hannah, Alison, Ewart and Luke are also now lying in 1st place in the overall SOUL standings.

Aberfoyle saw a decent turn out from ESOC, resulting in 2nd place for Emma on Short Green and 3rd for Ossian on White. Another 7 members were in the top 10 of their class. Overall, Margaret & Sally are lying 2nd & 4th on Short Green, Alison is 6th on Green, Keith & Megan are 6th & 7th on Blue.
