I am still having dull mild pain a month later on upper molar. Dentist said 4 canals were filled. He said root canals can take 5-6 months to settle down and re treatment would be crazy. Is this good advice to just have the onlay put on now?

I had a root canal and tooth number 14 approximately 10 years ago and recently I’ve noticed I’m having pain around the tooth and the gums feel very sore.
