I’ve reviewed a lot of kayaking equipment over the years, and now think I have finally found a good gear bag for less than $100 to take my clothing and gloves mobile with me. (Up until now I’ve been using a very large duffel bag with only one main compartment, which was too big and just wasn’t really getting the job done properly.)

I used a heated vest for the first time over this Thanksgiving weekend while kayaking. I was impressed with how warm it kept me in blustery conditions.

I think these heated vests are definitely worth considering as an underlayer if you plan on paddling calm water without immersion over the winter months.
